Chinese
1. For AY 2017-2018, the following books will be used for each level:
Chinese 1A-Year 1 Chinese 1B-Year 2 Chinese 2A-Year 3 Chinese 2B-Year 4
Chinese 3B-Year 5 Chinese 4B-Year 6
2. Extra books for Writing Practice are provided for Year 1 & 2 (Writing Practice 1A, Writing Practice
1B)
3. Chinese flash cards are provided from Year 1-4 ( 1-A, !-B, 2A, 2B )
4. Listening drill/whole reading should be done together each time teacher enters class through
teacher’s voice/CD reading
5. Provide samples of Chinese writing (pi hua) in square papers and students will do as homework
6. Always write on a big paper for any new vocabularies/words introduced. Paste at Chinese centre
7. One sub-theme story is usually written on 3 pages. Teacher is advised to teach one page at a
time, learning all the details on vocabularies/writing/grammar, etc
8. Chinese teacher should always speak Chinese in the class.
9. Chinese teacher should introduce Chinese greetings before the start of the class.
10. Composition writing (giving essay task) must be conducted every week to students for the whole
academic year. The minimum words per year level is targeted hereunder:
Year 1 – 25 words
Year 2 – 30 words
Year 3 – 50 words
Year 4 – 75 words
Year 5 – 100 words
Year 6 – 150 words
Year 7 – 200 words
Year 8 – 250 words
Year 9 – 300 words
Year 10- 350 words
11. Video for recitation (Speaking- download via You tube)
12. Chinese CD/textbook for listening- use question and answer after
13. Reading from Textbook. Read without the PINYIN starting from Y4-6. Must use rubrics.
14. Writing activities will be in the form of quizzes and summative test.
1. Rigby Primary Mathematics is integrated in Mathematics classes; to be completed for the whole
academic year. Year 1 will use Rigby 2, Year 2 will use Rigby 3 and so on.
2. New wave mental mathematics are introduced throughout a year (Y1 use book B,Y2 use book C,
and so on).
3. Extra resources for practices are provided, under Nelson & Oxford publishers.
4. Teaching aids should be obtained from inventory PIC and orders of purchases should be done in
advance (beginning of each term).
5. Sample of Assessment should be done in advance together with the submission of lesson
planning. Assessment should accommodate 40% of higher thinking questions.
6. All teaching aids should be displayed at math center during periods of discuss for particular
chapter. Should be removed and changed for the next chapter/module.
7. Record of work should be updated and signed by Academic Supervisor monthly.
8. Concept about dollars and cents should be eliminated.
9. Produce practical products from application of concept. (Y2 and above)
10. Teaching aids could be borrowed and used to support concepts.
11. Aware the reason why some modules require the skill of calculation using calculators (provided
by parents, this applies from year 1 – 6).
12. Refer to math score list to explain.
13. For upper level Mathematics (Y7-above), the teacher may not prepare lesson plans. Follow the
syllabi found in the CDs of the TRBs and highlight the activities that will be done in class.
14. Rigby Maths will be used for the following:
Year 1- Rigby 3; Year 2- Rigby 3 (AY 2018-2019)
15. Ignitia trial (Maths 6) will end in December, the succeeding term shall use the review
materials for UAN.
16. Online Maths (IGNITIA) Year 4-onwards
17. Rigby Maths Y1-3 will use the compilation of activity sheets from Rigby Maths, Maths
Alive, Nelson & Oxford and New Mental Wave all throughout the year.
Society+ PKN
Note: Grades in PKN and PLBJ will be the same as the grade given in Society. Teachers will have to
integrate the subject content of this in their society class.
8. Academic Enhancement (Optional)
Elective (PKN and PLBJ) – 1 period. Books will only be provided to teachers. Students are not
provided with textbook.
There will be no outputs to be produced, no study trips, and no homework.
This is the solution given on the government requirement to study these subjects/topics.
Assessment will be done in the classroom only.
The order of presentation will be:
PKN and PLBJ will be allocated for 1 period only in a week throughout the year.
Curr 13 is consists Bahasa, PE, Culture, Maths, IPS and PKN. IPS and PKN shall be used as
Supplementary activities only-no quiz, no homework
Society for Year 1-6; Social Sciences for Year 7-8.
Art & Craft /Technology and Enterprise/ Home Economics/ Culture (Year 7-above)
1. Use Australian primary art as resources (Y1 – 6). Assessment could be obtained within the
resource itself (CD will be provided).
2. For Technology and Enterprise, the following resources should be used: lower primary resource
(year 1 & 2), middle primary (year 3 & 4), upper primary (year 5 & 6)
3. Products should be creative, impressive and expensive.
4. At least 2 art and craft and 1 technology and enterprise outputs in a term.
5. Products should be displayed along corridor, labeled properly, brought home at the end of the
term.
6. All products should be brought home to parents in presentable ways, appreciated by parents. Ex.
Canvas paintings will be framed.
7. Budgets for projects should be proposed in the beginning of a term.
8. All students must utilize the Art & Craft room as reflected on the schedule.
9. Syllabi will be prepared but not lesson plans. Choose the themes that relate with the main
subjects like Science, English, Mathematics, and Society that require practical and/or tangible
projects or activities.
10. Year 7 & 8 will use Home Economics resource 1. Year 9 & 10 will use Home Economics resource
2.
11. Evaluation sheet should be prepared or presented for each activity. Curriculum may be modified
according to students needs such as sewing, plumbing, electricity, building, cooking (Yr 7 &
above).
12. May provide photos for proofs of development.
13. Prepare budget proposal for cooking and other activities of students in class submit to office
before start of classes.
14. Students are not allowed to use cutters in the project making. Teachers are the ones who will
cut the styro or card board for the students.
15. Select a project to be made from the related subjects.
16. Encourage students to design, to revise their own to enhance the activity in the Primary Art.

Culture (Arts and Crafts, Music, Technology and Enterprise)
1. Try to use classroom as much as possible (Y1-6) instead of music room. Unless required for a
space or using musical instruments (Seek approval from the AS.)
2. Year 2 and year 5 resources consist of 1 CD.
3. Year 1,3,4,6 resources consist of 2 CDs.
4. Provide assessment which consists of 30% theory and 70% practical.
5. Able to present performance once a month of assembly/chapel time (use assembly resource).
6. May provide cassette for proofs of development.
7. Music performance should be done once a month during the Chapel and Assembly Time.
8. Refer to score list to explain.
9. Culture will use the Seni Budaya book Art, Craft, Music and Dance. Alternately taught every other
week with Technology and Enterprise plus Computer.
10. Culture will use the C13 Book.
Character Building
1. Student will provide a English Bible (Children) Year 1-3; English Bible (NIV) for Year 4-6 version
and keep it in the classroom. Read bible every day.
2. Year 1 student must join the Preschool during Chapel.
3. Sing Christian song every day.
4. Have a golden verse every week according to theme and memorize it.
5. Provide assessments consist of 30% theory and 70% practical.
6. Homework should involve parents. (Home-School project)
7. Homework should reflect understanding of concept through practical assessment (refer to TRB).
8. Teaching materials in textbook should be backed up with practical activities which are
programmed the whole year for each grade level (refer to the CB program by the Guidance
Counselor).
9. Character building applications will use the House Program schedule alternately with 7 Habits and
Scouting for the term.
Physical Education
1. Make the syllabus – refer to government syllabus.
2. Make the lesson plan – use TRB. K-2 lower primary, 3-4 middle primary, 5-6 upper primary.
3. Advance proposal for purchasing equipment.
4. Provided rubric for assessments.
5. May provide photos for proofs of progress.
6. Use basket ball court in sunny days and function hall during rainy days.
7. Refer to score list to explain.
8. PE will use the C13 Book.

Mandarin
1. The Academic Supervisor must provide the rules of administering the exam.
2. The Supervisor will distribute the exam papers to the invigilators for each class from day 1 to
day 3 and must circulate to ensure the proper administration of the exam.
3. Teachers must be in their respective classrooms 15 minutes before the scheduled time.
4. The gate will be opened to admit students at 8:00 AM.
5. Prayers must be the outset of the examination to be led by invigilators.
6. Inside the class, there must be one main invigilator and one proctor.
7. Instructions must be given before the start of the exam.
8. SH paper must be used as answer sheets for the exam.
9. Translation of instruction and materials during exam are absolutely not allowed.
10. Supporting teachers should not be allowed to help. Must guide the student’s behavior only
under her care.
11. Write the time limit of the exam per subject on the board.
12. Should remind the students to stay silent/observe proper decorum while the exam is in
progress.
13. Should there be confusion, like unreadable lines or clerical errors on the exam paper the
proctor will consult the subject teacher for clarification.
14. After each exam, students are not allowed to loiter in the corridor or at the playground.
Instead they must be instructed to stay put/to go to the library, to review for the next exam.
The invigilator must see to it that dismissal will be done uniformly as scheduled.
15. Students are allowed to go out during break time for eating.
16. In the case of the last exam for the day, students must still wait in the classroom before the
pick-up. School shall be held liable in case of emergency within the official time.
17. Request the students to tidy-up the class before going –out.
18. At 12:00, all students must be dismissed.
1. Invigilators must gather, arrange, compile and hand-in the exam papers to the subject
teachers.

For year 6: The whole year coverage shall be divided into 3 terms only (term 1-3) for
all subjects while term 4 is the preparation of Government Exam.
The school exam (Ujian Sekolah-US and Practicum Test) shall be given in any day of
term 4 using the whole year coverage.
