Mini Project Topic: STUDY ON INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS STRATEGIES


ADOPTED BY TOP EMERGING COMPANIES IN INDIA.
In the last few years, many new and emerging companies in India have been born global and
expanded internationally than any other time previously in history. Some of the top emerging
companies in India are Ola, Oyo, Paytm, Cleartrip, Zomato, Myntra, Swiggy, Freshworks,
Wittyfeed, Byju’s, Zoho, Inmobi, Practo, Flipkart and other smaller starts up are there like
Burger Singh (restaurant chain), Synup (SaaS firm) and Hacker Earth (programming platform),
etc., are busy in expanding their global footprints. They are going abroad to secure assets
because their major markets are located in other parts of the world.
There are various international decisions/ strategies need to be made by the senior management
in regard to primary geography of focus, determination of target customer and channel strategy,
resource allocation, product and service value offerings, brand positioning, trade and creation of
an operating model.
Learning Objective:
a. To make the students apply and understand the international business strategy adopted by
top emerging companies in India.
b. To learn the challenges faced by MNCs in a different cultural set up different then their
home market.

Program objectives (POs) such as PO1, PO2, and PO4 are getting mapped with the following
course outcomes (COs) i.e. CO2, CO4, CO5 in this component.

Students can select any Indian origin companies/any newly found MNC’s/ already established
MNC in India.
Instructions for Work:

1. The students will work in a group comprising of 3-5 students.

2. Randomly select any MNC’s and collect information about their international business
strategies i.e. their product and service value offering, target customers, brand positioning
in the international market, cross border advertisement, promotion and distribution
strategy, revenue and sales model, etc.
3. It is essential to maintain all the references of the data collected about various selected
companies and proper referencing should be done.
4. The group will submit a research report that includes
1- Introduction & Overview of the company,
2- Product/ Services offered by Company
3- Target costumers, brand positioning and cross boarder advertisement
4- Degree & Mode of Internationalization adopted by the Company
5- International Presence and operations of the company
6- International business Strategies adopted by emerging companies,
7- Global Competitors of the company.,
8- Conclusion and references.
Use diagrams and graphs wherever necessary in your typed report.
All submission will be in the form of soft copy uploaded on Google drive.
Submission will be followed by viva to check contribution of individual group members.
Word Limit: 1500 -2000 words
Plagiarism of not more than 10 % is allowed for the project.
Note- 2 groups are not allowed to take same company.
