Kyiv National Linguistic University

Kyiv National Linguistic University is a recognized leader of higher linguistic

education in Ukraine. Established in 1948, the university is located in the heart of Kyiv,
the capital city of Ukraine. It is a public university that specializes in linguistics, foreign
languages, translation, interpretation, and cultural studies. KNLU is known for its
academic excellence, research, and international collaborations. The university offers a
wide range of undergraduate and graduate programs in different fields of linguistics and
cultural studies.
High quality teaching is provided by more than 800 faculty members, including
Academicians, Honoured Educators of Ukraine, Doctors of Sciences, Professors,
Candidates of Sciences (Ph. D), Associate Professors. The teaching and research process
is administered and coordinated by 5 faculties.Faculty of Oriental and Slavic philology,
Faculty of germanic philology and translation, Faculty of romance philology and
translation, Faculty of tourism, business and psychology, Pedagogical faculty of
romano-germanic and ukrainian philology and Preparatory faculty for foreign citizens.
One of the unique features of KNLU is its emphasis on foreign language learning. The
university offers courses in more than 20 languages, including English, German, French,
Spanish, Italian, Chinese, Japanese, Arabic, and Hebrew. The language programs are
designed to develop the students' proficiency in speaking, listening, reading, and writing.
The university also offers specialized courses in translation and interpreting, which are
in high demand in today's globalized world. KNLU has 3 educational buildings, 4
dormitories, a computerized library with more than 1 million books in storage, 10
computer classes for 300 students, a sport center, a canteen and buffets.
