1.02 WARRANTY
WARRANTY CONDITIONS
Warranty provided by Faresin Industries does not include normal wear, general
faults, troubleshooting or damage caused by improper use or irregular maintenance
with particular reference to overloading or modifications to the features of the prod-
uct.
Furthermore, after each intervention, the duration of use must be systematically
noted, indicated by the hour counter detector.
To guarantee duration of use and justify maintenance as the needs arise, the hour
counter must be kept in good working conditions.
In case of contrary operations to that stated in the user and maintenance manual,
warranty interventions cannot be taken into consideration.
The warranty foreseen is immediately invalidated with full rights, if the faults verified
are caused by one of the following reasons:
o if non original Faresin Industries spare parts are used;
o the use of components or products different to those recommended by the
manufacturer;
o if the name, serial numbers or Faresin Industries identification marks are can-
celled or altered;
o if the time taken to report a manufacturing problem is too long;
o continuing to use the machine knowing a problem exists;
o for damage caused by modifications to the machine that are not included in the
specifications of Faresin Industries;
o if lubricants, hydraulic oils or fuel used do not correspond to those indicated by
Faresin Industries;

CONSUMPTION MATERIALS
Each object or component replaced as a result of normal use of the machine cannot
be covered by the warranty (battery, tyres, glass, brushes, hoses, pipes, filter).
ADJUSTMENTS
Each adjustment, whatever it may be, could be necessary at any moment. Adjust-
ments are part of the normal conditions of machine use and are not covered by the
warranty.
Contamination of fuel and hydraulic circuits. All the precautions must be taken to
make sure that the diesel fuel and hydraulic oil are kept in good conditions: it is pos-
sible, in any case, to contaminate the fuel and hydraulic circuits mainly when the fu-
els and lubricants are stored on the work site.
Furthermore, a not perfect and irregular cleaning of the tank can also provoke con-
tamination of the fuel circuit causing damage to parts in direct contact with the fuel.
Faresin Industries will not accept warranty requests relating to the cleaning of the
fuel circuit, the filter, the injection pump or any other equipment in direct contact with
fuels or lubricants.

MOD. FH 10 - 14 - 17
The seat has an operator detector sensor. If the operator stands from the
seat when the machine has the engine switched on, the presence sensor
activates the negative brakes automatically. As a result, during transfers,
especially if performed at high speed, even with the seat belt fastened, it is
necessary to seat correctly, to prevent the risk that the machine stops suddenly and
without notice.
With the engine running but no operator seated in the cabin, the machine
automatically engages the brakes.

and at any speed within the limit indicated. It is however, advisable to reduce speed
when passing from high gear to low gear.
Heating
The driver cabin has a heating system that is also used to defog
the windscreen.
The air is circulated by a two speed fan operated by the
dashboard; chapter (paragraph 2.2.8.4).
The hot - cold adjustment range is covered by the knob rotation 0°
- 90° (1).
□ 0° = maximum cold
□ 90° = maximum hot
There are 4 air vents, two on the dashboard (2) that are also used
for defogging the windscreen and two (3) at the rear right of the
driver seat.
2.05 FUEL

2.11 PEDALS
"Inching"
The inching pedal is an integral part of the service brake (2).
It acts in the first part of the brake pedals course allowing slow and
precise movements with the machine even with the engine at full
speed.
Service brakes
Push pedal (2) to slow down or stop the machine; the action is transmitted to the
servo brake valve that acts on the brake discs inside the front differential bridges.
Being an assisted servo brake, the pressure applied on the pedal does not influence
much the braking. Even if pushed slightly, the brake stops decisively.
• The active parts of the parking brake plants are integrated inside the
front bridge; the service brake acts both on the front bridge and on the
back one.
• Both are with disks in oil bath that guarantee efficiency and effective-
ness throughout the years, as well as no need for maintenance.
It is hydraulically operated. Pushing the pedal, the brake valve drawer that allows the
oil to pass, moves towards the brakes box pressing the brake discs between them.
When the pedals are not activated, the brakes are free both with the machine on or
off.
An appropriate warning light indicates a possible pressure drop in the braking circuit
(warning light 6).
Accelerator
The gas pedal is connected by a pipe to a hydraulic cylinder connected directly to
the engine.
Push the pedal to increase the engine speed, release it to reduce speed.

CHAPTER 3
SAFETY
Page 39
TELESCOPIC ELEVATOR OPERATING AND MAINTENANCE MANUAL
MOD. FH 10 - 14 - 17
The machine is equipped with safety devices that increase the safety of the operator
but also prevent danger deriving from incorrect manoeuvres or forgetfulness.
3.02 TAMPERING
Do not tamper or remove plates and safety devices installed on the machine.
Tampering of safety devices and not observing signs relieves the manufacturer from
all responsibility of any damage to objects or injury to people that could occur. The
action maker is the only person responsible towards the competent body.
3.03 CABIN
The cabin is ROPS and FOPS approved as for earth moving machines.
□ ROPS = Roll over protection safety
□ FOPS = Falling objects protection safety
If the machine being manoeuvred is rolling over, remain inside the cabin for best pro-
tection.
SAFETY BELTS
• Safety belts must be kept fastened to prevent being thrown out
of the machine or crushing in case of roll over.
Page 40
TELESCOPIC ELEVATOR OPERATING AND MAINTENANCE MANUAL
MOD. FH 10 - 14 - 17
The engine does not start if the gear control lever is not in neutral position "N".
The machine automatically stops after 5 seconds from when the operator abandons
the driver seat; the hydrostatic transmission automatically disconnects and the
brakes insert.
For safety reasons, during transfer, especially if travelling at a sustained
speed with belts fastened, remain seated correctly otherwise you run
the risk of the machine braking suddenly without warning.
The vehicle has an anti roll system that makes (based on the weight of the load and
the length and inclination of the boom) a loading cell installed on the rear axle to
check lessen the weight exerted on it determined by the longitudinal tipping moment;
if this exceeds a certain limit the system will immediately block any aggravating
movements of the boom.
The check is carried out by a series of electronic signals that are processed by a
control unit.
When 80% of the maximum load has been reached an intermittent acoustic signal is
emitted and a yellow warning light switches on the display.
When the load has achieved 100% all movements aggravated by the boom are
locked: the acoustic signal becomes continuous and the red warning light on the dis-
play will come on.

All of the machine hydraulic cylinders are equipped with mechanical safety valves
that prevent the uncontrolled stroke of the piston in case of troubleshooting or dam-
age to the hydraulic circuit.
The rotating light is an accessory useful for indicating to others the presence of the
machine in the operating area.
The correct position is on the cabin roof where it remains fixed thanks to its magnetic
base.
To remove it, pull sideways with force to lift the base.
When not in use, place it inside the cabin.
The rotating light is equipped with an extensible cable with power connector to be
inserted in the power socket behind the driver cabin.
The device must be used when driving on public roads and during
building site operations.

CHAPTER 4
Page 44
TELESCOPIC ELEVATOR OPERATING AND MAINTENANCE MANUAL
MOD. FH 10 - 14 - 17
• The following information and list of standards must be understood and carried
out for full, safe working conditions.
• The main standards and prohibitions are available in chapter 1 "General Infor-
mation".
• It is forbidden to use the machine for purposes other than that for which it has
been manufactured.
• It is forbidden to use the machine outside of the technical limits indicated in
chapter 2 “Understanding the machine” and in any manner that differs from any
other indication of correct use contained in this manual.
• It is forbidden to use the machine in explosive environments.
The vehicle must only be used by qualified and authorised staff; the minimum train-
ing requisites are:
• a driving license for circulating on roads in the country where the machine is to
operate;
• telescopic elevator operator course attendance certificate;
The operator must be able to read and understand what is described in this manual
especially:
• the operation of the safety devices provided with the machine;
• the location and the function of all controls and instruments;
• the correct rules for using the machine correctly;
• the use limits of the machine;
• what not to do or to avoid.
4.04 RESPONSIBLE USE
• To start the engine, the operator must be sat in the driver seat. Inappropriate
procedures can cause unexpected machine movements causing injury to people
and damage to objects.
• The machine must only be moved with the operator sat on the driver seat.
• Never start the engine with ongoing short circuit.
• Take care of the machine. If malfunctions or damage to the safety systems
arise, immediately inform a supervisor.
Page 45
TELESCOPIC ELEVATOR OPERATING AND MAINTENANCE MANUAL
MOD. FH 10 - 14 - 17
• Observe the controls and maintenance program described in the chapter "Main-
tenance".
• Do not perform repair or adjustments, unless authorised and with the necessary
training.
• Tampering with safety devices relieves the manufacturer from responsibility in
case of damage to objects or injury to people.
• Do not allow people or animals on the machine or inside the driver cabin. Doing
so can obstruct the view, reducing safety standards and provoking accidental
use of the controls.
• Do not listen to music with headsets whilst operating the machine. This can pro-
voke the loss of concentration and lack of attention during work.
• Do not wear loose clothing, chains or belts that can get caught on the control
lever or in other parts of the machine.
• Do not drive with greasy hands or shoes.
• Adjust the seat and steering wheel positions to guarantee a safe and comfort-
able use of the controls, before starting the machine.
• Safety belts must always be fastened. keep a straight position so that parts of
the body do not stick out of the cabin.
• Do not use controls such as grips for climbing on to or off the machine.
• Never transport people unless the machine is equipped for such purpose and
provided with a certificate in compliance with standards for lifting people.
4.06 REFUELLING
• To circulate on road, the machine must comply with the road traffic code of the
country of operation. For the necessary information, contact your dealer.
• When circulating on road, respect the relative highway code.
• It is forbidden to transport loads on public roads.
• It is forbidden to operate the machine under the influence of alcohol and/or
drugs.
• It is forbidden to operate with the cabin door open.
BEFORE MOVING
Page 46
TELESCOPIC ELEVATOR OPERATING AND MAINTENANCE MANUAL
MOD. FH 10 - 14 - 17
FORWARD DRIVE
If visibility is scarce due to fog, rain, dust etc. reduce speed and use appropriate
lighting.
When passing through limited openings such as archways or gates, make sure there
is minimum space for manoeuvring.
When manoeuvring at fast speeds, remain correctly seated because the accidental
activation of the integrated presence sensor on the seat can provoke sudden and
unexpected slowing down of the machine.
REVERSE DRIVE
• Before reversing, make sure no bodies or obstacles are within the operating
area of the machine.
• If your view is obstructed, ask for help from a person on the ground and main-
tain visual contact with this person.
• Make sure glass and rear-view mirrors are clean and in good condition.
• Avoid driving long paths reversing at high speed; scarce manoeuvrability of the
driving position reduces safety margins and causes fatigue.
4.08 PARKING
• Make sure the ground upon which the outriggers and wheels rest is
compact and resistant.
• Insert the parking brake button (see paragraph 2.8.3.31).
Park on flat ground. If the surface seems unsafe, lower the outriggers and
place if necessary, the wedges in front of the wheels.
If the slope exceeds 15%, block the wheels with wedges. In these conditions
the parking brake may not guarantee sufficient brake torque.
• Lock the hydraulic controls with the appropriate devices (where pro-
vided).
• Retract and lower the telescopic boom to rest on the ground the acces-
sory in use.
• Place the gear control lever in neutral position "N".
• Switch off the engine and extract the ignition key.
• Close all windows and lock the door with the key.
• Never leave the ignition key inserted when permanently abandoning the ma-
chine.
• When temporarily abandoning the driver seat, place the gear control lever in
neutral position "N" and activate the parking brake button both if the engine is
running or is off.
• Never park in places that can obstruct road circulation or can be generally dan-
gerous.
• Never park the machine during stops with the boom extended or lifted.
Page 47

MOD. FH 10 - 14 - 17
Page 48
TELESCOPIC ELEVATOR OPERATING AND MAINTENANCE MANUAL
MOD. FH 10 - 14 - 17
• The accessories hooked to the boom must be equipped with standard locking
devices.
• The accessory must not reduce the function of the front lights.
• After installation, always check the accuracy of the hook.
The features indicated above are indicative and can vary from ground to
ground, humidity conditions and environmental temperatures.
• Always work in proper lit conditions; the standard machine lighting system is not
adequate for lighting the working area.
• Work far away from electric power lines. At a distance less than 5 meters there
is the risk of electric shocks.
• Do not allow anyone to approach the operative area and pass under the load.
• Never lift the load above people.
• It is forbidden to operate with the cabin door open.
• The lighting signal must always be working both during work phases and during
transfers. This warns staff nearby of possible dangers.
• When vision is reduced by environmental conditions or obstacles, ask a person
for help for signalling.
• If the load being transported reduces your visibility, reverse only if the route is
short.
• Make sure the windows are always clean, the lighting system is efficient and the
rear-view mirrors are well positioned.
• If other machines are being used on the building site, assign a coordinator who
will perform signals and clear understandable orders.
• Before lifting loads, make sure that nothing and no one can obstruct the opera-
tion avoiding dangerous movements.
• Carry out slow manoeuvres and progressive lifting and lowering of the tele-
scopic boom.
• Never perform operations that exceed the capacity of the machine or accessory.
• It is forbidden to increase the balance weight value.
• When using the machine, respect the instruments control at regular intervals in
order to detect in time any troubleshooting.
• If an instrument or warning light indicates troubleshooting, switch off the engine
and carry out the necessary operation (see "Maintenance" chapter).
• Try to keep the load stable as much as possible. When bending pay careful at-
tention because it could modify its barycentre.
• If the load transported is naturally unstable, adequately sling it.
• In case of strong wind, avoid extreme use of the telescopic boom.
Page 49
TELESCOPIC ELEVATOR OPERATING AND MAINTENANCE MANUAL
MOD. FH 10 - 14 - 17
After intense use of the machine, do not switch it off immediately but
let it to run at a minimum for a few minutes allowing the engine tem-
perature and the hydrostatic transmission temperature to cool down.
This rule must be respected especially if the switching on and off of
the engine if frequently followed. In these conditions the cooling system is
not efficient due to the brief function time.
• When moving on uneven ground, the contact of the wheels with the surface is
conditioned by the depth of possible holes and obstacles found along the route.
• Wheel contact is guaranteed if the difference of level (A) is +/- 15 cm; above this
value, the bottom wheel remains lifted off of the ground.
Page 50
TELESCOPIC ELEVATOR OPERATING AND MAINTENANCE MANUAL
MOD. FH 10 - 14 - 17
• If the machine being manoeuvred is rolling over, remain inside the cabin for your
best protection. If, as required, the safety belt is fastened, maximum protection
is ensured.
• After roll-over and when the machine has stopped, exit using the door if possi-
ble, otherwise open the rear window as described in the "Understanding the
machine" chapter.
Page 51

• Never activate the starting motor for more than 5 seconds. To avoid excessive
battery stress, allow 10 seconds between one attempt and another.
• Never start up the machine by towing it or pushing it. Such action can cause se-
rious damage to the hydrostatic transmission.
• When using the machine, respect the instruments control at regular intervals in
order to detect in time possible anomalies.
• If an instrument or warning light signals an anomaly, immediately switch off the
engine and carry out the necessary operations.
4.20 ADVANCING
Page 53

Forward drive
Pull the lever towards the steering wheel and move it forwards to enable forward
drive of the machine (F).
Reverse gear
Pull the lever towards the steering wheel and then back to enable reversing of the
machine (R).
To arrange the machine for driving on road at 40 km/h, switching from "worksite"
mode to "road" mode, carry out the following operations:
1. Lower and fully retract the boom: the value of H viewed in the display must be
lower/equal to 1 m, whilst the L value must be null.
2. Retract and fully lift the outriggers.
3. Position the key selector centrally (road mode).
4. Position the gear shift lever in neutral (N) and press the service brake pedal.
5. By keeping the devio in neutral position and the brake pedal pressed, activate
the mechanical gear insertion button (5); verify that when changing the gear, the
warning light (6) switches off and on (this indicates that the new gear has been
inserted).
Page 54
TELESCOPIC ELEVATOR OPERATING AND MAINTENANCE MANUAL
MOD. FH 10 - 14 - 17
At this point the road mode is set with the second mechanical gear inserted (40
km/h). All the functions of the boom are deactivated for safety. In road
mode, you can also travel with a reduced mechanical speed (to face
climbs): To do so, the gear shift lever must be put in neutral, push the
service brake pedal, press the gear change button and ensure that the
gear warning light is inserted.
! It is advised to pay particular attention in limiting vehicle speed on
downward routes, to a value not higher than that indicated in the
"Understanding the machine" chapter, by acting on the service brakes.
To turn back to the worksite mode, it is sufficient to insert the reduced
gear and set the selector in worksite mode.
Accelerator
The machine is at a stop with the engine running at a minimum.
Gradually apply pressure to the gas pedal to start driving.
Push pedal (1) to increase the engine speed, release it to reduce
speed.
When the engine is running at a minimum, the machine gradually
slows down and stops.
Service brakes
Push pedal (2) to slow down or stop the machine. The action is
transmitted directly to the brakes located inside the front and rear
differential bridges.
! Do not drive using the gas and brake pedals at the same time.
"Inching"
The inching pedal is an integral part of the brake pedal.
It acts in the first part of the brake pedals course allowing slow and precise move-
ments with the machine even with the engine at full speed.
Attention: pushing the pedal too far causes the machine to stop because
it activates the brake.

Attachment
• Connect the power tube to socket A1.
• Attach and lift the accessory as described in the previous
paragraph.
• Tilt backwards the support until the accessory rests by ef-
fect of its weight.
• Use the joystick to command the exit of the pins that at-
tach the accessory.
Release
• Lift the accessory.
• Tilt it forwards.
• Use the joystick to retract the pins. As a result of gravity,
the accessory will disconnect from the support.
• Straighten the support and place the accessory on the
ground. Unhook it.
Page 57
TELESCOPIC ELEVATOR OPERATING AND MAINTENANCE MANUAL
MOD. FH 10 - 14 - 17
For all accessories that require hydraulic power, two quick pressure attachments are
foreseen at the end of the telescopic boom.
The quick attachments are "push - pull" types.
To avoid leakage of high pressure oil, never connect or disconnect
when the circuit is in pressure.
Connection
Without using the joystick, push the male connector into the female connector.
Disconnection
Without using the joystick, push the male connector towards the exterior.
Activation
Work is controlled by the movements of the joystick from the driver seat.
When not in use, the pressure sockets must be kept closed with
their rubber protections.

The loading diagram represents the weight in kg applied to the forks that the machine is ca-
pable of lifting based on the boom extension.
grid
extension
Kinematic
motion
Using a grid, comprised of horizontal and vertical lines at 1 m intervals, it is possible to read
the height and distance of a load, horizontally, from the front of the front wheel.
Page 61
TELESCOPIC ELEVATOR OPERATING AND MAINTENANCE MANUAL
MOD. FH 10 - 14 - 17
The kinetic motion is also provided in addition to the grid, comprised of a series of arcs
(identified by letters A, B, C...etc) at a distance of 0.5 m from each other, representing the
boom extension, and a series of lines that represent the boom angle.
To determine the size of an unknown load that needs to be lifted, it must be lifted approx-
imately 300 mm off the ground, and the boom needs to be extended at a point where the
anti roll system is not triggered. By reading the letter that falls outside of the boom exten-
sion, it is possible to find the weight of the relative load by following the curve of kinematic
motion until it intersects with angle 0°.
The load reading on the diagram will be the weight that the boom is lifting at that time.

Equipment:
- 8 mm hex wrench.
Emergency procedures:
Immobilise all four wheels to stop the vehicle from moving once
the brake has been released.
Mark the head of the screws to count the number of times each
screw needs to be turned during the procedure.
Lie down under the axle and identify the six release screws
(three for each side) at the base of the axle.
Move out from under the vehicle and have all staff not directly involved in the opera-
tions leave the surrounding area.
Carefully remove the blocking wedges from the four wheels and drag the vehicle to a
safe place.
Block the four wheels again and continue performing the necessary operations.
Page 63
TELESCOPIC ELEVATOR OPERATING AND MAINTENANCE MANUAL
MOD. FH 10 - 14 - 17
Immobilise all four wheels, lie down under the axle and, using the dynamometer
wrench unscrew alternate release screws (1), (2) and (3) (counter-clockwise) by a
1/2 turn.
Once again, unscrew screws (1), (2) and (3) alternately by a 1/2 turn until the torque
suddenly slackens.
Continue unscrewing screws (1), (2) and (3) alternately until you feel the head of the
screw touching the special screw.
Then, screw the screws (1), (2) and (3) back in, in the opposite direction, by a 1/4
turn. At this point the parking brakes are working again and the front wheels are im-
mobilised.
Then, remove the wedges from the four wheels. Make sure the parking brake is
working properly.
Take down the danger or warning signs from the steering wheel and the ignition key.
RESIDUAL RISKS
If parking the machine on a surface pending more than 15%, the wedges must be
placed in front of the wheels. In these conditions the parking brake cannot guarantee
a sufficient braking torque.

Splashes of fuel or hydraulic oil can penetrate the skin or enter eyes
with serious consequences.
Unload the pressure of the circuits before disconnecting the pipes.
Before starting up the engine, make sure that all connections are cor-
rectly closed.
Searching for possible loss of liquids is carried out using a piece of
cardboard as described. Protect eyes using a facial mask or glasses.
In case of injury caused by oil or fuel, immediately seek medical help to
remove all traces and prevent infection.
Gas produced by the chemical elements contained in the battery may explode with
consequent discharging of corrosive liquid splashes.
• Wear a facial mask and glasses.
• Keep the battery away from open flames or sparks.
• Charge the battery when the temperature is less than 15-16°C otherwise there
is the risk of explosion.
• Check the charging of the battery with a voltmeter or a densimeter.
Start up by means of an external battery.
• When starting up the battery by means of an external battery, follow the proce-
dure indicated below in this chapter. An incorrect procedure could damage the
electronic control central units provoking the explosion of the batteries and the
sudden moving of the machine.
• Two people are required for safe operation, one of whom must always remain
seated in the driver seat.
• Do not leave remaining batteries in very cold environments.
The gas of the batteries could explode causing serious damage (see
below, in this chapter, for further information)
• If there is enough time, stop the engine by turning the ignition key.
• Move away from the machine.
• Attempt to put the fire out only if an adequate and efficient extinguisher is avail-
able.
Page 67
TELESCOPIC ELEVATOR OPERATING AND MAINTENANCE MANUAL
MOD. FH 10 - 14 - 17
The materials used for the machine are a threat to the environment if not disposed of
correctly. The lubricants, fuels, refrigerants and battery are considered potentially
dangerous waste.
Do not throw these materials on the ground, down the drains or in waterways but
dispose of them according to local legislation.
Ordinary maintenance operations are described on the following card. They are nec-
essary to maintain the machine efficient in time.
Maintenance is divided per argument such as, for example, engine, power system
etc.
Each one is resumed in the following paragraphs where, aided by photographs and
texts, the correct maintenance procedure is explained.
The controls and filling in of the cards must be performed by the person responsible
for doing so. The completed cards must be kept by the operator inside the machine
and made public at inspections by controlling bodies.
The operations indicated with the letter "X", must be carried out by your Faresin In-
dustries dealer.
Keep the original card integral and use a photocopy.

FURTHER M AINTENANCE
Battery
The battery is inserted in the compartment where all electric equipment is
housed and which is near the last cabin access step.
To access the battery, remove the protection carter fixed with screws.
Periodically inspect its external conditions for example, oxide formation and the
internal liquid level, depending on whether the battery requires maintenance or
not.
If replacing the battery with one that requires maintenance, remember that the
sulphuric acid contained is in it is poisonous and can cause scalding.
When handling the battery, proceed with precaution as follows:
□ operate in an aerated room;
□ wear adequate protective devices to protect the face and skin;
□ do not light flames or cigarettes nearby;
□ keep children away;
□ charge the battery only if the correct procedure can be ensured.

! Never section the battery with the engine running.
Removal
Disconnect the negative pole cable (-).
Lift the rubber protection of the positive pole (+) and disconnect the cable.
Lift the battery gripping the side handles.
The battery weighs 30 kgs and therefore two people are necessary
to lift it.
When replacing the battery, respect the pole connections as indi-
cated in the figure.
