1. Calendar Creation: This is very important because scheduling is done based on calendar
creation.
2. 3 Types of Calendar pools
i) Global Pool – Applied to EPS-EPS Node-Projects-WBS-Activity-Resources
ii) Project Pool – Applied to only Project- WBS-Activity-Resources
iii) Resource Pool-Applied only for -Resources
3. Create Project Calendar in Software
i) Main Menu – Enterprise – Calendars – (Customize based on scenario)
ii) Apply Calendar for Project – Select the project – Default – Calendar

ii) It is basic unit of Project
iii) Activities are divided into
a) Start Milestone & Finish Milestone:
i) Any major accomplishment of work is called milestone
ii) Represent task with zero duration
iii) Represented by points
b) Task Dependent & Resource Dependent
i) Task dependent activities follow Project calendar
ii) Resource dependent activities follow Resource Calendar
c) Level of Effort & WBS Summary
i) The level of effort activity that has a duration that is not entered by a user.
Rather, it is based on the dates calculated by the successors and predecessors
(and their durations) in a particular path.
ii) WBS Summary activity can be consider sub WBS with group of few activities
within that WBS. Use this activity type to roll up dates, duration, and percent
complete values for a group of activities that share a common WBS code.

their dependencies.
ii) In other words, Any relationship b/w activities need to be identified so that dependent
activities can be scheduled to follow those that they are dependent upon.
iii) Activity A (Predecessor) – B – Activity C (Successor)
iv) Different types of Relationship

b) SS – Start to Start (Activity A & B start on same day) – 5% activity
c) FF – Finish to Finish (Activity A finished where Activity B also finished ) – 5% activity
d) SF – Start to Finish (Successor activity finishes than activity a starts)
