Raw data
Qualitative data
1. The time taken for the magnesium ribbon to dissolve r was shorter when the
temperature of the acid was higher.
2. The magnesium ribbon started fizzing and dissolving when it was added to the
hydrochloric acid
3. When the Magnesium reacted to the acid it created/ released a white smoke.
4. The experiment is exothermic

Conclusion
In this experiment the effect of Temperature on the Rate of a Chemical Reaction was
investigated. From the results in the experiment as the temperature increases the rate of
reaction also increases. This is becauseIf the temperature is raised, the kinetic energies
are increased so that there are more collisions per second. We can see this from our
own results when the temperature of the acid was at 54°C the rate of reaction was 0,042
which shows that the rate of reaction was higher compared to when the temperature of the
acid was at 9°C the rate of reaction was 0,018, the rate of was slower when the temperature
was 9°C. This means the magnesium ribbon disappeared faster when the temperature was at
50°C compared to when the temperature was 9°C.
