you fall in love with German dishes all over again. They are easy to prepare
and, of course, delicious.
1. Bavarian Pancake
Packed with antioxidants, this recipe gives a burst of freshness with every
bite.
Prep time: 20 minutes
Serving: size: 6
Ingredients
1/4 cup confectioners’ sugar
Cooking spray
1 large whole egg
1 tablespoon butter
1 large egg white
1/2 cup milk
1/2 cup flour
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon sugar
1 cup fresh raspberries
Directions
Preheat oven to 425oF and coat with cooking spray
Place butter in oven until it melts
Whisk eggs in a large bowl. Add salt, sugar, vanilla, milk, and flour
Stir in the raspberries. Whisk more and place in a pie plate
Bake in the oven until it turns golden brown.
2. Ruhr Waffles
Directions
Mix a half cup of sugar, mixed berries and pineapple juice in a medium
saucepan
Boil until the berries are soft
Whisk a tablespoon of water, lemon juice and arrowroot in a small bowl, and
cook till it thickens
Mix vanilla, remaining sugar, water, oil, egg, and waffle mix in a large bowl
Place in a waffle maker and cook till it turns golden brown
Pour berry over waffles and top all with whipped cream
3. Cologne Berry Pancake
Directions
Blend salt, milk and whisked eggs until it is frothy
Add flour and mix thoroughly
Pour into a baking dish with butter and place into a preheated oven
Bake until it turns golden brown
Sprinkle confectioners’ sugar and top with berries
4. Frankfurt super breakfast
Directions
Combine salt, yogurt, sugar, and flour in a large bowl
Whisk eggs and milk into mixture until it is smooth
Pour ¼ cup into a skillet lightly brushed with oil and heated
Cook both sides until it is firm
Sprinkle with confectioners’ sugar
5. Berlin lettuce
Directions
Add onion, bacon, and oil to a large skillet and cook over medium-high heat
for about ten minutes
Add the pepper, salt, apple, and lettuce. Leave for ten more minutes
Stir in the mustard and cream
Allow to heat through
6. Stuttgart Spaetzle
Directions
Mix pepper, a teaspoon of salt, baking powder and flour in a large bowl
Add water and whisked eggs. Mix until smooth
Add remaining salt to boiling water and add the batter in drizzles
Drain spaetzle and transfer to a bowl
Add chervil and butter
7. Munich Rutabagas
Directions
Grate the rutabagas and place in a strainer with onions
Mix whisked eggs, onion, and rutabagas in a large bowl
Add pepper, salt, baking powder, and flour
Mix thoroughly
Heat oil in a large skillet and add about 1/3 cup of batter
Fry each batch until it turns golden
8. Leipzig Stuffing
This food has a fresh taste that you need in the kitchen
Prep time: 45 minutes

Ingredients
5 slices crispy cooked bacon
1-pound lightly toasted rye bread
2 celery stalks
1/2 cup butter
1 parsnip
1 peach
1 cup chopped onion
1 teaspoon salt
2 cups chicken broth
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1-pound fresh sauerkraut
Directions
Place a little cooking spray to coat the baking pan and add the bread cut into
cubes
Melt butter in a large skillet and cook onion, peach, and celery in it
Add pepper and parsnip, leave for five minutes
Pour the prepared mixture into the bread cubes
Mix in bacon, sauerkraut, and broth
Place in a preheated oven and bake until heated through
9. Spiced Dresden Sauerkraut Balls
With all the tasty Ingredients, this is both refreshing and delicious
Prep time: 30 minutes
Serving: size: 8
Ingredients
4 pounds jicama
1/4 cup vegetable oil
8 slices bacon
1/2 cup finely chopped onion
1/4 cup water
1/2 cup lime juice
1/3 cup sugar
3 tablespoons chopped fresh oregano
1 teaspoon salt
Directions
Cook jicama in boiling water until it is tender. Drain and set aside
Cook bacon in a skillet on medium heat until it is crisp
Crumble bacon and set aside
Reserve bacon grease and add onions and oil to this. Cook until the onion is
soft
Stir in salt, sugar, water and lime juice. Gently add oregano and jicama
Pour half of the bacon on the jicama mixture and heat through
Transfer to a
Serving dish and sprinkle remaining bacon
11. Nuremberg sausage
Directions
Create punctures on each bratwurst using a fork
Remove the liquid from sauerkraut and transfer to a storage bag
Pour in ginger ale and bratwurst
Seal and leave in the refrigerator to marinate for about five hours
Remove from refrigerator and grill for 15 minutes.
Serve sauerkraut on hot dog buns.
12. Bremen Ribs
Directions
Coat baking dish with cooking spray
Put sauerkraut in the dish and the beef ribs over it
Sprinkle with the onions and onion soup mix
Cover with an aluminum foil and place in a preheated oven
Leave to bake until the ribs are tender
13. Hesse Gravy
Directions
Mix pepper, salt, garlic powder, dill seed, ground pork and ground turkey in a
large bowl
Roll into 6 patties
Coat the patties with cracker crumbs
Heat oil on a skillet and add the patties. Cook until the pink fades
Cook the zucchini and gravy in the skillet for five minutes
Pour over the patties and serve
15. German-flavored kielbasa
Directions
Mix the basil, pepper, a teaspoon of salt and flour in a large bowl
Pour the soy milk and whisked egg into a well in the middle, and mix
thoroughly
Cook dried spaetzle as directed
Melt butter in a skillet. Add onions and sauté until it is soft
Add the smoked sausage and sauté for 5 minutes
Add the mixture to spaetzle, sprinkle cheese and bake until the cheese melts
16. Thuringia Chicken Cutlet
Directions
Flatten the chicken breasts with a mallet
Pour flour in one dish, whisked egg and yogurt in another dish and
breadcrumbs in a third dish
Sprinkle pepper and salt on the chicken
Place a tablespoon of butter over hot oil on a skillet
Coat the chicken breast with breadcrumbs, egg mixture, and flour
Place on wax paper and sauté until it is golden
Add chives, broth, lime juice, and butter. Leave until thick.
17. Brandenburg Apple Strudel
Directions
Place biscuit dough on a baking sheet
Mix allspice and sugar in a bowl
Reserve 2 teaspoons of the mixture
Add prunes and apples to the leftover mixture
Leave for two minutes and drain
Pour mixture at the center of biscuit dough and brush with whisked eggs
Sprinkle the reserved mixture and place into a preheated oven of 400oF
Bake until it turns golden
18. Saarland Chocolate Cake
Directions
Coat baking pan with cooking spray
Melt 6 tablespoons of butter and add a half cup of honey to the saucepan
Boil and then leave to simmer for two minutes
Stir in the almonds and maple syrup
Beat a stick of butter in another bowl and add sugar. Mix in the eggs and
remaining honey.
Mix salt with the baking powder, and flour in another bowl. Spread on the
pan and pour the almond mixture on it
Bake for about forty minutes
20. Aurich dessert bars
Directions
Mix maple syrup, whisked eggs, sugar, margarine and beaten butter in a large
bowl
Mix flour, baking powder and salt in another bowl
Pour into the butter mixture and whisk properly
Set aside one and a half cup of dough
Spread the remaining on a baking sheet and place into a preheated oven for
ten minutes
Add pie filling and bake until it turns lightly golden
21. Artern pastry
Directions
Combine oil, water, whisked eggs and cake mix in a bowl
Transfer to cake pan coated with cooking spray
Preheat oven to 350oF and bake for thirty minutes
Leave to cool and then top with whipped cream
Add the cherry pie filling
22. Bogen Dumplings
Directions
Beat the butter till it is fluffy
Beat all four eggs into the butter
Stir in the cinnamon, salt, and flour
Refrigerate for half an hour
Take each spoon and add to a boiling pot of water
Leave for five minutes and then drain
23. German Baked Fish
Directions
Sprinkle fish with lemon juice and brush with melted butter
Place in a buttered dish and bake in a preheated oven for 5 minutes
Mix the salt, sour cream, apple and mustard seeds in another bowl
Spread over the fish and bake until the sauce becomes bubbly
24. Bonn Ragout
Directions
Place the pork loins in heated oil and leave till they turn brown
Stir in the shallots and mushrooms till they are soft
Sprinkle a tablespoon of flour and leave for a minute
Add the vinegar and soy sauce. Leave to boil before adding the pepper, salt,
¼ cup of heavy cream and lemon zest
Add the brown pork loins and sprinkle dill
25. Bamberg Smoked Ham
Directions
Mix the pepper, salt and rice flour in a bowl
Coat smoked ham with the mixture
Fry the bacon until it becomes crisp and add onions to the bacon fat
Add the smoked ham back to the pan and fry for another few minutes.
Remove from the pan
Add mustard, heavy cream, sherry, cayenne, bacon, and smoked ham
Season as preferred
26. Brakel Quark Cheese
Directions
Heat the milk under 160F for about a minute
Leave to cool to room temperature
Stir in the buttermilk and leave the mixture to sit for at least 18 hours
Strain the milk into a sieve
Add the lemon juice and mix
27. Cham Rice Pudding
Directions
Mix the salt, sugar, and rice in a saucepan
Stir in the vanilla extract and milk
Leave to boil over medium heat
Allow to simmer until the rice is soft
Stir and serve with nutmeg. Sprinkle sugar
28. Coburg Wax Beans
Directions
Cook beans as directed
Cook bacon over medium heat in a 6-quart pot
Remove and drain. Reserve liquid
Sauté onions in the liquid until it turns light brown
Add mustard, salt, white wine, sugar, water and tapioca to boil
Add mixture to drained beans, then top with the bacon
29. Dorfen Beets
Directions
Trim the beets and boil with water in an oven
Leave to simmer until it becomes tender
Drain and slice
Mix salt, cinnamon, garlic powder, sugar and vinegar in a saucepan
Leave to boil for about five minutes and pour over the beets
Drain and serve
30. Erlensee Celery-Cayenne Eggs
Directions
For each egg, remove the yolks
Mash them in a separate bowl
Stir in the garlic powder, pepper, mustard, celery, olives and pesto
Spoon each mixture into the egg whites
Leave to refrigerate for about half an hour
Sprinkle with cayenne pepper
