Critical review, Group A

Introduction
Group A has prepared their presentation with the chosen topic of “Intelligence”, for the course
‘Psychology of Personality and Social Psychology’. The group has made a well-structured and
good designed presentation about the subject. It contains theoretical slides and examples. The
concept is split into types of intelligence and IQ tests. In the following two paragraphs we will
elaborate more on what we liked from the project and feedback on the presentation slides. In
the last two paragraphs the overall project and the project presentation will be discussed.

What we liked from the contents of the project and why

The presentation is very well structured. It starts with a good overview, followed by some
theoretical slides that explain the different types of intelligence. This is a good way to briefly
lecture the audience and familiarize them with the topic. Aside from the different types of
intelligence, we see the presence of ways to develop that certain intelligence, which is nice.
After this explanation, the group has added some examples of tests, which make the
presentation more interactive and clearer. In the second part, IQ is discussed. For this part the
group uses some examples of different well-known people, this makes it relatable for the
audience, because you might know some of them. Finally, the project is concluded with two
slides that seem to summarize the entirety of the project through combined analysis of its
contents, given examples and paraphrasing.

Feedback on the presentation

The presentation looks good. The structure is made clear by different sizes, types, and colors of
text. All the slides follow the same lay-out. The design is clear, and it does not distract from the
content. Besides, we like the pictures that were used because they fit the subject very well.
Also, the lay-out of the logical mathematical exercises looks good. We do advise to not make
the presentation look too playful and keep it professional. A way to do this to keep the colors
you use in the same scheme. The colors that were used right now, sometimes clash. For
example, in slide 12, we think the colors are not complementary.
Aside from the nice layout, we think there is too much text on some of the slides. When this
happens, it makes it harder to read because there is a lack of overview. Especially on slides 17
and 18, there are too many sentences. It would be better to use bullet points here to make it
easy to read.
