What if the City of Manila was occupied by the British in the 1700s and they continued

their rule over Manila until they granted the Filipinos independence after World War II,
describe and narrate how Manila would look and function in the present day?

The British occupation of Manila was an episode in colonial history of the Philippines when
the Kingdom of Great Britain occupied the Spanish colonial capital of Manila and the
nearby port of Cavite for twenty months from 1762 to 1764. The occupation was an extension of
the larger Seven Years' War between Britain and France, which Spain had recently entered on
the side of the French.
The British wanted to use Manila as an entrepôt for trade in the region, particularly with China.

What if:
If Britain was the one who occupied the Philippines years ago by that time, perhaps we will be
considered as part of a 1st World country and adopt what Britain could offer. Also, we will adopt
the parliament system instead of democracy government. Our economy would also be better and
supported by Britain. Manila might be in good governance because the individual and collective
responsibility of the executive to the parliament will make all members of the cabinet work hard
for the successful administration of the country. It also ensures accountability and transparency.

If Britain was the one who occupied the Philippines years ago by that time, we might quite have
the same attainment that happened in Malaysia when they are occupied by Britain. Malaya
became the world's greatest exporter of natural rubber. The British also improved public health
facilities, which reduced the incidence of various tropical diseases, and they facilitated the
establishment of government Malay schools and Christian mission (mostly English-language)
schools; the Chinese generally had to develop their schools. These separate school systems
helped perpetuate the pluralistic society. Considering the effects of this occupation some
Chinese, Malays, and Indians benefited from British economic policies.
