Briefly answer the following statements related to understanding learners with special needs. Write your

1. What is the difference between low achievers and student with learning disabilities? Explain each.

Describe: Each one of us as a student have a unique skills, knowledge and capabilities are in processing or
undergo learnings, we cannot deny the fact that we are still learning is everyday of our life as a student, we
can’t even know what period of learning’s we belongs. The difference between low achievers and student with
learning disabilities, In my opinion, the Low Achievers Student are the one who has a below average on a
standard IQ test and has a difficult dealing in the various areas of academics like reading, mathematics, writing
and comprehensions while the student with learning disabilities are the one who have average or higher
average scores the standard IQ test but have a difficult with a basic psychological process. Also this student
are engaged or assigned certain facilities by the government that assist them in their academic work and
exam.
Low achievers: In other word, it is refers to those student that have a lower than average of IQ but not
low enough that it will categorize or recognize as a student having mentally handicap. It means that this
student might have many problem or having anxiety or don’t know what is the answer or how to study. This
kind of students wee the guidance and support from their parents so that they may able to progress in that
various situation.
Student with learning disabilities: It refers to the student having condition of neurological disorder
where they have difficult or problem in various areas like in decoding unfamiliar words, writing and etc. Also
this student need the support and guidance of the parents, government and etc.

Explanation: In this world, all of is are needed to undergo in the learning process. However, each one of us
have various of difficulties and issue on dealing our leaning period. We have many differences in our life like in
various of academic in terms of solving, and reading and writing but it is not hindrance to learn and study. For
me, we should support and treat them well and teach if they having difficult because learning is what we all
need, having disability or not, learning process learning process is for everyone.
2. Are the speech impairments and language impairments a two separate but related disabilities?Kindly
explain your answer.

Describe: Speech and language impairment is defined as a communication disorder that adversely affects the
child’s ability to talk, understand, read and while. They might mean the same things when were talking
casually about communication. But in the medical community, they are very different meanings. Speech refers
to the actual sound of spoken language refers to a whole system of words and symbols. Like spoken, written
or expressed gestures that used in communication.
Speech Impairment: It refers to and individual who has trouble or difficult producing certain sounds
accurately. Or difficult in making words or sentences flow smoothly, like stuttering or stammering.
Language Impairment: It refers to and aphasia which means difficult understanding or speaking parts
of language due to an brain injury or how the brain works or refer to a auditory processing disorder where it is
difficult in understanding the meaning of the sounds.

Explanation: This two impairments are separate but related disabilities since it involve the communication
where speech and language are needed. Children develop speech and language skills at their own individual
paces. But if you child has any of the above problems, it’s a good idea to talk to your pediatrician. Your can get
a referral to a speech-language specialist to find at if a speech or language problem exists. Treatment options
can be different for each child, so getting the right diagnosis is key.

3. How can teachers make a real difference in the educational experience for students with ADHD? Give
at least four(4) reasons.

 Teaching students with ADHD or dyslexia can be a real challenge. These students are known for
being Inattentive, Hyperactive and Impulsive which can lead to Frustration on the part of the
teacher. In the traditional school, kids instructed to pay attention, follow instructions and
concentrate, qualities that are absent in student with ADHD. With the proper and strategy that
teach the students with ADHD it will make a difference in educational experience first
Accommodations refers to what can be done to make learning easier for students with ADHD like
make an adjustment in classroom, keeps the students with ADHD from distracting and disrupting
the class so that it will focus on you and catch up the lessons or discussion. Second is Instruction
where it deliver the information, teacher must give the instruction one at a time, if possible repeat
and visual aids like pictures, color coding so that the student’s will understands easily. Third
intervention, where the teacher handle any disruptive or distracting behaviors like talk to them in
private about their behavior or have a kind of warning signals like hand signals, shoulder squeeze or
have a stick note in their desk so that they can aware that they are in hyperactive and not
necessary to do that. Third technology, it can help a person to more easily tackle daily Challenges
and work, it makes learning and communication simple and more functional. The learner must
motivate these kids and help them adjust since they often require extra attention and it’s up to
their teachers to provide them with extra help they need.
