VERA HOUSE ANNOUCES 29TH ANNUAL

WHITE RIBBON CAMPAIGN

Fundraising Campaign Offering Multiple Options for Community Participation and Support Runs
March 20 - 31

Vera House today announced the 29th Annual White Ribbon Campaign will run March 20 -31 and
once again focus on fundraising efforts to further its mission of ending gender-based violence
against women and girls.

The White Ribbon Campaign is a global movement of men and boys working to end violence against
women and girls, promote gender equity, healthy relationships, and a new vision of masculinity. It
started in Canada in 1991 and remains one of the world’s largest male-led campaigns to end men’s
violence against women. Men and boys wearing the White Ribbon declare that they will never
commit, excuse, or remain silent about men’s violence against women.

The White Ribbon Campaign coincides with the continued efforts of Vera House, its Board, and
Foundation to implement changes focused on strengthening services and rebuilding trust among
clients, donors, and community partners following the most challenging time in this organization’s
history. Philanthropic support, like the White Ribbon Campaign, is critical to this transformation.

Vera House Interim Executive Director Sheri Rodriguez said, “The Vera House White Ribbon
Campaign serves as an important reminder to the community just how crucial our mission-driven
work remains towards ending domestic and sexual violence and other forms of abuse. As such, we
have structured this year’s events in a way that will help raise awareness and support while allowing
us the valuable time we need to continue the important work of rebuilding trust after a difficult year
for the Agency. We are incredibly grateful for every sponsor, supporter, donor, and friend of Vera
House.”

Vera House Foundation Trustee Chair Sarah Fitzgerald said, “We believe every person has the power
to make a positive difference. A donation in support of our mission is a testament to that belief. All
contributions have a meaningful impact on the lives of individuals and families within our
communities and beyond. We look forward to partnering with you.”

This year, Vera House is offering several ways to help support and contribute to a future free of
gender-based violence:

White Ribbon Champions

CNY businesses can become White Ribbon Champions by generously donating a portion of their
proceeds collected in the month of March to Vera House. By participating, White Ribbon
Champions are also eligible to have a Vera House representative visit their business or organization
for a presentation on topics ranging from gender-based violence to healthy relationships.
