GREENVILLE, SC — The Project R.E.S.T fundraiser will be held on Nov. 18, 2022 at
Relentless Church, located at 635 Haywood Rd in Greenville, SC. The event will be held from
10am- 5pm. The event is being held to raise funds to support the shelter and needs of people who
have been victims of sexual assault and domestic abuse.

Jada Charley, the director of Project R.E.S.T, will be the main speaker at the fundraiser. The
pastor of the church, John Gray will also make an appearance during the fundraiser.

Charley said, “I’m hoping family and friends will come out and support this fundraiser. The
purpose of this fundraiser is to really bring awareness to domestic violence and sexual assault
that can happen to anybody.”

This non-profit organization is hoping to raise three thousand dollars and the money will go
towards the organization and people who come in and out of the shelter due to domestic violence
and sexual assault. The fundraiser will be having car washstands set up in the parking lot, with a
live band from Relentless church choir. Baked Goods and plates such as pies, cookies, cupcakes,
and a soul food plate (fried chicken, macaroni, greens, cornbread) will be sold. Admission for
this event will be free, but you must register through the organization’s website to get inside the
fundraiser. The fundraiser will be open to the public.

The Project R.E.S.T is a non-profit organization that aids victims of sexual assault as well as
domestic abuse victims in Spartanburg and Cherokee Counties. The organization R.E.S.T stands
for Restore, Empower, Support and Transform those affected by domestic and sexual violence.
The funding for the Project R.E.S.T. program of services comes from a variety of sources, such
as the submission and approval of grant applications, proceeds from thrift stores and therapy
program, fund-raising activities, and private and public donations. For victims of domestic
violence and their children, Project R.E.S.T offers emergency housing for up to sixty days that
includes food, clothing, transportation, limited daycare, and tutoring.

Jada Charley, executive director of The Project R.E.S.T, said, “We’re looking forward to the
fundraiser on November 18. Our county has so many people that go through domestic abuse
and sexual assault. Our goal is to recognize that this problem exists in our world. This event is
also designed to raise money for those people in need.”
