Support sought for Medical Mission to Honduras

For the fourth year in a row, Aldersgates Fay Painter, joined this year by
Kathryn Reid, will spend a week in June in the impoverished, remote
mountainous region of central Honduras, bringing life-saving medicine
and health care to children and families. The team of 16 people will
serve 1200+ people with vision care, dental care, medical care, fluoride
treatments, and anti-parasite medicine. Children needing surgery and
ongoing care will be identified and served through an extended care
program and surgical teams.
Fay and Kathryns mission trip is with the Friends of Barnabas
Foundation in Midlothian, Virginia, which was started 15 years ago by a
United Methodist minister, the Reverend Linwood Cook. Fay is the coleader of the June team. The cost is $2,000 per person, and the team
needs to raise an additional $7,500 to purchase medicine and medical
supplies.
Please consider a gift to sponsor her trip. Checks may be made payable
to AUMC and write Honduras mission trip in the memo line. Thank
you, and God bless you.

Note of Thanks
To Our Aldersgate Church Friends: We want to thank all of you for the
many kindnesses you have shown to Coby during his serious illness this
past month. The get well card blitz was heartwarming, and did so
much to brighten his spirits. The flowers were beautiful, and the sweet
prayer bear is a constant companion. But most of all, the knowledge
that you all are praying for him, and supporting him with your faith, has
been of utmost importance to him. Coby was very sick, and has a long
recovery ahead, but he is getting stronger every day. Thank you all so
much for your true friendship. We look forward to seeing you in church.
With Heartfelt Gratitude, Lois Eisaman and our family.

College Student Care Packages

April is here! Besides bringing in spring weather, that means that it's
time to start collecting for the college care packages. We send these to
our college students to let them know that we're thinking about
them. This small act means a lot to the kids. We will be
collecting goodies in a tub in the hospitality room from April 10 until
April 24. Please help us out with chocolate, pretzels, nuts, crackers,
gummies, granola bars, mints, gum, pencils, pens, popcorn, cocoa, hard
candies, or any other small items that you think a college student would
enjoy to get them through the trauma of exams. Questions? Call
Susan Reed at 973--0766 or email reedr3va@netzero.com. Thanks!
