What is a Video Blog (or VLOG)? A vlog is a video commentary of your personal view or
opinion on something – in this case the Tasks below. You will produce a visual telling a
personal story about the Tasks.

Is it an individual assignment or a team assignment? You work individually for this


assignment, and it must be recorded in English.

What is the length of the VLOG? We expect every student to make a vlog no more than 3
minutes. To ensure it allows for maximum creativity.

What is the deadline for submitting the VLOG? The VLOG is going to make up part of your
grades for finals.

Where do you upload the VLOG? It is to be uploaded here in the eVERSITY platform as a video
upload.

Does your vlog need a theme? Yes, it must showcase this subject and task.

Which elements does your vlog contain? Clearly mention your name plus subject on the title
shot of the vlog. The video has to show you talking to the camera, and your presentation has to
be polished and professional. Film in ‘landscape’ and not in ‘portrait’. You may include short
demonstrations.

Do make sure, that your vlog does not include footage that you cannot account for, because
this might be considered an infringement of copyright. You are liable for this personally.

You may have transitions, texts on the screen, or any other extra embellishments or special
effects, as long as these embellishments do not distract from the contents. You may also
include visual material.

Bibliography. A list of the sources of information that you have used to construct your video
must be cited on the final page/screen image of your vlog such as credits. These must be
formatted appropriately.
How to produce a VLOG:
The video can be made on any one of the following recording devices: video camera, digital
camera, webcam, phone camera. The quality should be sufficient to meet the standards for
visual/audio presentation and uploading on YouTube. Acceptable file formats include .mpeg,
.avi, .wmv or .mov (not moviemaker project files).

What happens with the Individual VLOG afterwards?


All vlogs will be assessed by your teacher. Teachers will select the top VLOG for their class.
A panel of student assistants will draw up a shortlist of best vlogs of the semester across each
class.

After that a jury will decide on which student has produced the best one for each campus.

The winning Student VLOG will be awarded a prize.

The top vlogs will be showcased for all students to view via social media.
