As Prime Minister of the newly independent state of Trinidad and Tobago it is with

considerable pleasure to our entry into the Commonwealth family now. From the
right to vote, to the right of others, equality draws the eyes of one who wishes to
achieve. The aim to have a greater independence from Britain and other common
wealth countries allow us, a Democratic country to preserve the rights of the
citizens. To exercise human freedom makes up who we are as a country. When we
look at how we progressed into becoming an independent yet self-sacrificing
diplomatic member of the West Indian Federation, it is with joy to be known as the
beautiful land of Trinidad and Tobago. Problems may have arisen to the conclusion
that decisions were decided.

Taking everything into consideration, our country will have to flee from the
federation agreement. With respect to being an independent country, we will
support other Caribbean community members in the written agreement that was
displayed in 1971. This allowed other islands to join and become united in terms of
improving the quality of life for each individual. Discipline, production tolerance,
these are our goals both personal and collective. One from ten leaves nought. We
understood all the decisions that were made and we will not intervene their actions.
So as your Prime Minister it is my duty to respect the rights of all citizens and the
member states of the Caribbean.
