In Business Writing, proposals are an important form of written communication.

When it is necessary to
establish professional connections with businesses and stakeholders, proposals are used. A document
known as a business proposal is designed to persuade an audience and achieve a specified outcome.

A proposal has several sections include the cover page, summary, background, proposal, benefits,
timeframe, budget, and conclusion (Ashman, 2020).

Example of a Workplace Proposal:

Implementing a cloud-based software for developing banking forms.

Type and Purpose of the proposal:

This type of proposal is an internal formal proposal which is about implementing a software to simplify
the current process of developing the various banking forms which includes Mortgage applications,
Personal Loan applications, credit and debit card related forms and other banking application forms. This
proposal is about implementing a new software in the project to simplify current developing procedures,
enhance teamwork, and boost project effectiveness. Currently, this type of forms are being developed
manually which is a tedious process and time consuming as well. With the aid of this appropriate
software, we can get over the manual creation of forms because, as we all know, technology is
constantly growing.

Research and Planning:

As part of Research, the first thing I would do is evaluating the existing tool and its capabilities to develop
and deliver the forms to the client. As a result of the data collection, we realised that our deliveries fall
short of what customers are expecting though we have required team members for the project. This can
be fixed by using new software to replace manual operations, which will greatly reduce project costs and
time spent on them. After analysing three automated software tools, we choose the one that produces
the results effectively out of the three. We should analyse the project requirements, timelines, and
budgets after choosing the tool. Finally, demonstrate this new software to the client for feedback after
conducting all the required analysis.

Information I would include:

An overview of the research done for the new cloud-based software that has been proposed and the old
manual software, together with its differences, features and intended outcomes. An outline of the
benefits that this new software brings for the project in terms of budget, timelines, required team
members and major deliverables. The required supporting tools for this new software implementation.
The prerequisites required for using of this software and delivering the tasks within timeline. Any
challenges faced while developing this tool. Benefits and any risk factors involved. An estimation of the
investments required for the implementation of new software.

Conclusion:

In conclusion, a proposal must include proper research, analysis and planning for the further process of
development. The proposal needs to be convincing in order to persuade the client that our software is
the best choice for their requirements. The proposal must be formal in tone and presentation because
the client is a huge organisation that expects a professional tone and presentation.
