Significance:

Upcoming 50 years the World population is expected to increase by at least 50% to 9 to 10

billion. It is estimated that to feed this population, food production will need to expand by

120–170%, This rapid growth in population has increased food demand and urbanization and

has decreased available land resources. According to the global food security index, Pakistan

has an overall score of 49.1 and an affordability index of 47.6 and ranks 77th in the world,

with 22% of its population being undernourished. When a child dies every five seconds due to

malnutrition-related diseases, it is difficult to focus on surviving children as a result of food scarcity.

Explanation: 3 marks

 Blue is showing that first sentences is striking as it is telling in upcoming 50 years the

world population is growing exponential.

 Orange shows the supporting debate of upper striking sentence.

 The green is showing concluding remarks as we have to solve this problem.

Background:

The Thar desert region, located in northwestern India and southeastern Pakistan. However,

despite the challenging environment, there exist several possibilities for food and energy

harvesting in this region. Historically, the local communities have adapted to the harsh

conditions by developing innovative techniques for agriculture, such as using traditional

methods of water harvesting and conservation. The region is also rich in solar and wind

resources, making it a potential hub for renewable energy production. In recent years, there

has been an increasing interest in utilizing these resources for sustainable food and energy

production, with various projects and initiatives being undertaken to harness their potential.

With the right investments and initiatives, the Thar desert region can become a significant

contributor to sustainable food and energy production in the region.

Explanation: 3 marks

 Blue is showing striking sentence as it is describing that there are several harvesting

possibilities in thar region.

 Orange is showing the supporting of the first striking sentence.

 Green is showing concluding remarks as we have to put investment in that region to

solve the problem of food scarcity.

History:
The Thar region has a long history of food and energy harvesting possibilities. Historically,

the inhabitants of the region have relied on traditional farming methods, such as rainwater

harvesting, to cultivate crops like millet, wheat, and mustard. these methods were often not

enough to sustain the population. In recent years, the Thar region has seen the introduction of

new technologies, such as solar-powered irrigation systems and wind turbines, which have

opened up new possibilities for energy harvesting. These advancements have not only

improved access to electricity and water, but have also made it possible to cultivate new

crops and create more sustainable livelihoods for the people of the Thar region.

Explanation: 3 marks

 Blue is showing striking sentence as it is describing long history of food and energy

harvesting possibilities in thar areas.

 Orange is showing the supporting of the first striking sentence.

 Green is showing concluding remarks these technologies adoption solve water and

electricity problem and also possible to cultivate new crops.

Question 1:
Answer 1:
Exploring Food and Energy Harvesting Possibilities in Thar areas adjacent to urban areas using
literature review.

Description:
A good title has four components.

1. Activity (red)

2. Study domain (green)

3. Limitation (blue)

4. Technique (orange)

Activity:
Exploring is the activity.

Study domain:
Food and energy harvesting possibilities is the study domain.

Limitation:
Thar areas adjacent to urban areas is the limitation because we are only considered in one
region for food and energy harvesting.

Technique:
Literature review is a technique which is used to exploring food and energy.
