Multimedia and graphics design

What are vector graphics?

Vector graphics are computer images created using a sequence of commands or
mathematical statements that place lines and shapes in a two-dimensional or three-
dimensional space.
Digital Imaging and photo editing
A digital image is a representation of a two dimensional image as a finite set of
digital values, called picture elements or pixels. The digital image contains a fixed
number of rows and columns of pixels. Pixels are the smallest individual element
in an image, holding quantized values that represent the brightness of a given color
at any specific point.
Photo editing is the act of altering an image. But that’s oversimplifying a subject
that can be complex and employs different methods and tools.
Page layout and typography
Typography may be defined as the theory and practice of letter and typeface
design. In other words, it is an art concerned with design elements that can be
applied to the letters and text (as opposed to, say, images, tables, or other visual
enhancements) on a printed page.
Page layout is about the positioning and relationship of text and other elements on
the page. In fine printing, typographers usually get to choose the page size of their
documents. But you don't—most of the documents a writer prints will be on
standard printer paper.
Motion graphics and video editing
What is motion graphics?
Motion graphics are a way to communicate with the viewer, and add depth to the
story. Together with music and effective copy, they can give us a message. We use
them to create ads, title sequences for movies, explainer videos, and to share
information.
Video editing is the manipulation and arrangement of video shots. Video editing is
used to structure and present all video information, including films and television
shows, video advertisements and video essays. Video editing has been dramatically
democratized in recent years by editing software available for personal computers.
User experience and user interface
User Experience Design: it’s the process of creating a product that is easy to use,
easy to interact with, and accessible for the users while putting their feelings first,
based on a long-term and short-term scale.
User Interface Design: is the design of user interfaces for machines and software,
such as computers, home appliances, mobile devices, and other electronic devices,
with the focus on maximizing usability and the user experience.
