HOSTEL ADMINISTRATION IN COMMON PORTAL

Abstract:

The project entitled as “Hostel Administration in Common Portal” is to design and develop the
application package for well secured dynamic application. This package is originated using front
end Windows Application coding ASP.NET with SQL Server 2008.

An easy to operate user friendly, economically priced software that Committed to meet the all
requirements to manage small, medium and big scale hostels. Hostel Administration System is
one of the leading software for complete management of your Hostel; it can manage the hostel
room allocation, student information, . The Hostel management software provides all kinds of
record keeping feature required in a Hostel .

As the name specifies “Hostel Administration in Common Portal” is software developed for
managing various activities in the hostel. For the past few years the number of educational
institutions and companies are increasing rapidly. Thereby the number of hostels is also
increasing for the accommodation of the students and employees. And hence there is a lot of
strain on the person who are running the hostel and software’s are not usually used in this
context. This particular project deals with the problems on managing a hostel and avoids the
problems which occur when carried basic software.

Using the constructs of MS-SQL Server and all the user interfaces have been designed using the
ASP.NET technologies. The database connectivity is planned using the “SQL Connection”
methodology. The standards of security and data protective mechanism have been given a big
choice for proper usage. The application takes care of different modules and their associated
reports, which are produced as per the applicable strategies and standards that are put forwarded
by the administrative staff.

Main Admin

Main admin is the super admin for the application, Maintain the entire application. They only
verify the sub admin registration process and accept the sub admin credential.

Sub Admin

This module is used provide the username and password for user to access the records.

Staff Registration

This module is used to provide the details of the Staff whose are working in the hostel. This
module consists of the details of the Staff such as Staff id, name, date of birth, address, phone
number, Designation and etc.

Hostel Details

This module is used to provide the information of the hostel details. This module consists of the
details of the hostel such as hostel id, name, address, phone number, email id here the details are
entered and are updated.

Fees Details

This module is used to provide the information of the Fees details. This module consists of the
details of the room fees such as hostel id, name, Maintenance amount , food amount here the
details are entered and are updated.

Room Available Details

This module is used to provide the information of the Room Allocation details. This module
consists of the details of the room such as rno, rcat, Date, room things, Cno, email id here the
details are entered and are updated.

Staff Process

This module is used provide the username and password for Staff to access the records.

Hostel Enquiry

This module is useful for adding and updating user personal details. This module consists of the
details of the student such as, name, date of birth, address, phone number, room no, office name
and etc.
Advanced booking

This module is used to provide the information of the student pre and advanced booking details.
Also include the user name, id, address and advanced fees details.

Hostel Attendance

This module is used to provide the details of the Hostellers attendance. This module consists of
the details of the Hostellers such as id, name, daily attendance, food attendance and etc. The
Attendance Details Store For the future Reference.

Room allocation Module

This module is used to provide room allocation and room vacant details are managed. In this
module, the room number for the Hostellers is allocated and the details of the each Hostellers are
maintained and updated regularly.

Room Vacate Details

This module is used to provide the information of the Room vacate details. This module consists
of the details of the room such as rno, rcat, sid, name, time, Date, room things, Cno, email id here
the details are entered and are updated.

Employee Details

This module is used to provide the details of the employee whose are working in the hostel. This
module consists of the details of the employee such as employee id, name, date of birth, address,
phone number, Designation, date of joining and etc.

User Process

This Module is used to Support the all user process. And it provide the username and password
for user access the details.

Registration

This module is used to provide the details of the user whose are looking for the hostel . In ths
user means student ,staff, and Working women's. This module consists of the details of the uiser
such as Ids, name, date of birth, address, phone number, and etc.

Hostel Search
This Module Provide the full Details about the Hostel locations, no of rooms in the hostel, and
other Features of the hostel.

Advanced booking

This module is used user can done advanced booking for hostel. Also include the User name, id,
address and advanced fees details.

Report

Only Main Admin can access the page and check the report. Includes the Username, from date, to
date. It retrieve’s all the information stored from different tables. Requested report is generated.
