Q3. Mean values and ranges of data from 20 samples (sample size = 4) are shown in the
table below:

Plot x̅and R chart. What conclusions can you draw about statistical control?
Answer :

Conclusion from above control charts :
1. In  the  X   chart,  3  points  lie  beyond  the  upper  control  limit  (UCL).  Hence  we  conclude  that  the  process
average is out of control due to the presence of some assignable causes.
2. In  the  R-chart,  all  points  lie  within  the  control  limits,  hence  it  is  concluded  that  process  variability  is  in
control.

Q6. A vendor ships components in lots of size 10,000. A single sampling plan with n = 89,
c = 2 is being used for receiving inspection. Plot an OC Curve for this plan.
Answer :

Q7.  A  single  sampling  plan  is  given  as  -  Lot  size  N= 5000, n = 50 and c = 1. Plot an OC Curve and AOQ Curve
for this plan. Also find AOQL.
Answer :
AOQL for the given sampling plan is approximately 0.0165.
