Participating in this course was a wholesome new experience for me.
What is design thinking Design thinking is a problem-solving approach that involves understanding the needs and requirements of users and customers and developing innovative solutions to meet those needs. This typically involves a human-centered approach that emphasizes empathy, collaboration, and experimentation. There are many models of design thinking, but the model we used in our course was Empathy, Definition, Ideas, Prototypes, and Tests. Additionally, I learned various design thinking tools such as empathy mapping, the double diamond model, and more. Other things I learned were root cause analysis, the fishbone method, and 5 reasons. What is systems thinking Systems thinking, on the other hand, is a problem-solving approach that involves understanding the relationships between the various components of a system and how they interact with each other.
Q1: What were your most significant insights?
For me, there were multiple significant insights but the one that amazed me the most was the converging and diverging thinking process. The ORA and the NORA was another very super interesting and very insightful.
Q2: How will this impact your behaviors in the future?
In future, it will help me in multiple ways like empathising with the other person, avoiding the rational thinking, trying to understand the mindset of the other person, being open minded, optimistic, doing the BDA analysis. This will also help me to avoid the mental models to some extent and will ensure that I do not draw conclusions directly. Most importantly, I will not be sticking to the first solution that comes in my head and will try to explore different options. Q3: What difference will they make to your professional role? The difference a design thinking course makes to my professional role is that it offers a more innovative and collaborative approach to problem solving. You'll be able to better understand the needs and requirements of your customers, users, or employees, and be able to design more effective products, services, and strategies to meet those needs.
Q4: What you believe design thinking is? (Personal Definition)
Just a Liner - Innovating a product requires design thinking. Innovation is the end result, design thinking is the input. Design (The crazy bit) and thinking (The sensible bit).
Q5: What you believe system thinking is? (Personal Definition)
Systems thinking, in my opinion, involves a holistic approach to problem solving that takes into account the wider context in which the problem exists and attempts to identify the root cause of the problem.
