ANSWER : The Aligarh movement was a educational reform movement that emerge in India
presented by Sir Syed AHMED Khan as Muslim intellectual , Whose aimed is to raise up the Muslim
community by providing modern education and secularism .

The basic main reason of Aligarh movement was is to improve education among Muslim , who
lagging behind in the field of education .for this purpose Sir Syed Ahmed Khan build the
Muhammadan Anglo Oriental College in Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh , in 1875, which later became the
Aligarh Muslim University (AMU). This college are very advance college because in this college the
education provided to student in modern English and helped Muslim student to seeking the
different skill that was very necessary for job in governmental sector.

Under this movement several organization were formed to promote education and social reform
among the Muslim society . The Aligarh Educational Society found in 1870 whose aimed to
promote the spread of education among Muslim , The Al India Muslim Educational Conference ,
founded in 1886 , whose aimed to promote education and create a unity among Muslim .

The Aligarh movement played a vital role in the separation of education from religion in undivided
India .it encouraged the adoption of modern education and secularism among Muslim `.

The main purpose of Aligarh Movement is ‘ loyalty to a British Government, modern western
education for Muslim to complete with Hindus; ,to keep away Muslim from politics
