Activity 1
Summer Reading:
Reading is fun, knowledgeable and it widens our horizon. So, let’s
make our summer vacation so much more fun.
 Step 1: Pick any two books from the list below.

 Step 2: Enjoy reading both the books during Summer.
 Step 3: I’m sure you would have liked one book more than the other that you
read .
 Step 4: Now pick your favorite one out of the 2 books and do the following
activity.
 Step 5: Now that you have your favorite book, pick your favorite character.
Assume that you are that character.
 Step 6: Take out the Summer Long notebook and write down the following:
a. Why did you like that character?
b. How do you think that character could have been portrayed better than in
the book? (Hint: maybe the character could have been more truthful or
more bold or more cheerful, etc)
c. Imagine you are that character now, what more things could that character
have done? (Hint: maybeif you had magical powers like you could fly,
have a magic wand or could time travel, etc, etc )
d. Did you like the ending of the story? If yes, why. If No, say how it could
have been more interesting.

 Step 7: Bring the assignment to Class once school reopens

Activity 2
Dream Vacation

Wow!! You just received a gift of Rs. 1,50,000 and you are planning to take your family
for a short vacation. You need to make a detailed dream vacation plan about your trip
with all the following information and details.

Take a fresh page in your Summer Long Book and write the heading, ‘Dream Vacation’.

My location:
- Research about your location
- Where do you want to take your family?
- Where is this place located?
- How many days are you planning the vacation including travel days?
- Print some pictures of this place and paste it as an introduction
Possible Travel dates:
- When is the best time of the year to visit your location?
- Is it rainy or cold or hot there at the time of your visit?
- Write down your travel dates
Mode of travel:
- What is the mode of travel to your location: is it by car, bus, ship, flight or any
other means?
Accommodation:
- Where are you planning the accommodation?
- How many rooms would you need, based on the number of family members?
Food expenses and activities:
- What activity is there at your location: example-theme park, zoo, malls, other
sightseeing places.
Day-to-day itinerary:
- Add details of which places you will visit each day of your vacation
- Add pictures of each place of visit
Congrats !!! now your dream vacation is ready 😊.
Bring this to class after your summer vacation and hand it to your class teacher!!! Make
sure your dream vacation project has pictures.
