What Should I Do When I’m Grown Up Like You?

A puppy said to his Dad… “ I’m confused, you see, when I’m
grown up like you I don’t know what to be! “ I could be a firefighter
who is strong and brave. So people would call me to save the
day. If cute little kittens were caught in a tree. I’d climb to the top
and set them all free! Yes! Maybe I should be a firefighter! I don’t
know though…I’ve always thought it would be cool to be a
teacher! If I was teacher I’d teach Math or Writing, and make sure
every class was extra exciting! Maybe I’d teach Reading and
Science too, and say “ Good Job. Yes maybe I should be a
teacher! I don’t know though….
I’ve always thought it would be cool to be a race car driver! I if
drove a race car I’d go super fast. I’d win all the races and never
place last! The crowd would cheer and scream my name. I’d
have trophies, and ribbons, and fortune, and fame. Yes! maybe I
should be a race car diver! I don’t know though…I’ve always
thought it would be cool to be an astronaut! I’d visit all the
martians while I was out in space, and tell them about earth, and
how it’s really a cool place. I’d see the moon, the planets and
even the sun, then I’d fly back to earth when my mission was
done. Yes! Maybe I should be an Astronaut! I don’t know
though…I’d win an award and have lots of fun! I’ve always
thought it would be cool to be a singer! I’d go my concert and sing
to a crowd, and make my friends and family so proud! The songs
that I’d sing would be number one. I’d win an award and have lots
of fun! Yes! Maybe I should be a singer! I don’t know though…
Yes! Maybe I should be an artist! I would paint pictures of forest
with beautiful trees, and mountains in winter with snow to your
knees. I’d mix red, yellow, blue, purple, orange and green, and
my drawings of dogs would be the best that you’d seen! Yes!
Maybe an artist! I’ve always thought it would be cool to be a chef!
I’d make tasty meals and have specials each day, and bring food
to tables on a decorative tray. I would make lots of food and
delicious warm treats, and all of my friends would come over to
eat! Yes! Maybe I should be a chef! I don’t know though…Then
the Dad said to the Pup..” You know son it seems, like the best
idea is to follow your dreams, you can be anything you want to
be, and remember, you’ll always be special to me”.
