God presented Christ as a sacrifice of atonement,
through the shedding of his blood—to be received
by faith. He did this to demonstrate his
righteousness, because in his forbearance he had
left the sins committed beforehand unpunished
Hebrews 9:22
In fact, the law requires that nearly everything be
cleansed with blood, and without the shedding of
blood there is no forgiveness.

Romans 8:23
Not only so, but we ourselves, who have the first
fruits of the Spirit groan inwardly as we wait
eagerly for our adoption to sonship, the
redemption of our bodies.

authorities, he made a public spectacle of them,
triumphing over them by the cross.
1 Corinthians15:24-25
Then the end will come, when he hands over the
kingdom to God the Father after he has destroyed
all dominion, authority and power. For he must
reign until he has put all his enemies under his

Romans 5:8-10
But God demonstrates his own love for us in this:
While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Since
we have now been justified by his blood, how
much more shall we be saved from God’s
wrath through him! For if, while we were God’s
enemies, we were reconciled to him through the
death of his Son, how much more, having been
reconciled, shall we be saved through his life!  because they have not believed in the name of
Colossians 1:19-20
For God was pleased to have all his fullness dwell in
him, and through him to reconcile to himself all
heaven, by making peace through his blood, shed
on the cross.
Ephesians 2:14-16
For he himself is our peace, who has made the two
groups one and has destroyed the barrier, the
dividing wall of hostility, by setting aside in his
flesh the law with its commands and
regulations. His purpose was to create in himself
peace, and in one body to reconcile both of them
to God through the cross, by which he put to death
their hostility.

John 3:16-21
For God so loved the world that he gave his one
and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall
not perish but have eternal life. For God did not
send his Son into the world to condemn the world,
but to save the world through him. Whoever
believes in him is not condemned, but whoever
does not believe stands condemned already
God’s one and only Son. This is the verdict:
Light has come into the world, but people loved
darkness instead of light because their deeds were
evil. Everyone who does evil hates the light, and
will not come into the light for fear that their deeds
will be exposed. But whoever lives by the truth
comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly
that what they have done has been done in the
sight of God.
John 17:3
Now this is eternal life: that they know you, the
only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have
sent.

After Jesus said this, he looked toward heaven and
prayed: “Father, the hour has come. Glorify your
Son, that your Son may glorify you.
