the sake of the beneficiaries. They can also the way on how the proponents will

give orientation to the parents of the pupils.

VIII. Beneficiaries

There are 10 pupils which constitute for being the primary beneficiaries in this

project implementation. This is beneficial for them since they can easily learn

how to read by using various strategies and culminating activities. On the other

hand, the parents of the selected pupils are the secondary beneficiaries of this

project. It is because it will lessen their time and burden on teaching their

children on how to read.

IX. Rationale of the Project

The proponent of the project proposal utilized the community-based

assessment to assess the continuous problem affecting the younger learners.

Based from the data being gathered, the need for reading enrichment should be

prioritized to attain learner’s second language development. James Asher

claims that successful learning of second language requires a parallel process

to pupil’s first language acquisition. A method of linguistic production

accompanied by motor activities such as game-like actions facilitate learning

due to absence of pressure and stress. Therefore, the proponent decided to

implement a program entitled “Reading is for Sharing: Integration of Total

Physical Response (TPR) Method for Reading Enrichment.” It is designed for

Tabangao Ambulong, Batangas City pupils since this area is more accessible

with low population ideally for executing the heath protocols of the community.

Through this approach, the primary beneficiaries are pupils enhancing their

lexical awareness (phonetic awareness, vocabulary, text comprehension,

spelling and letter knowledge), and listening comprehension. Also, the

secondary beneficiaries are the language instructors helping them to train

learners for instructional command and authority development. By then, both

the learners and teachers are going to benefited with this speech and action

coordination creating a stress-free and harmonious classroom environment.
