GUIDELINES FOR RADIO SCRIPT WRITING AND BROADCASTING

1. Script Writing
a. Scripts should be:
• encoded using Arial font size 12 black font color
• with directorial instructions in capital letters
• double-spaced with normal margin (1 inch on all sides)
• printed on a short-sized bond paper
• be written in English

Each team should submit one (1) copy of the script one day (March 27) before
the broadcast simulation on March 28. The team may print extra copies for
their own use.
2. Broadcast Simulation
b. The students will be given time to start their 5-minute radio broadcast, that
includes weather forecast of the day, an infomercial, which may depict
awareness about global warming and four (4) news articles, International (1),
National (2) and local (1). The infomercial shall have a maximum length of (1)
minute and shall use the language that the group is competing in.
c. Each team may use laptops or smartphones for their audio background
d. Each team shall be given eight (8) minutes: two (2) minutes of which for
preparation, five (5) minutes for the actual broadcast, and one (1) minute for
the exit. Provided running time shall be applied.
e. The technical operator shall only set the sound system before the simulation. A
jack/auxiliary cord will be provided for the CD player, laptops, sound system
and other sources of sound effects by each group.

NOTE: 2 SMARTPHONES ARE ALLOWED PER GROUP AND MUST BE


SURRENDERED TO YOUR ADVISER BEFORE 8AM ON TUESDAY (MARCH 21) AND
THURSDAY ( MARCH 23) AND WILL BE RELEASED DURING SCIENCE CLASS ONLY/
SCHEDULED PRACTICE TIME.
