Thomas Jefferson was interviewed about his accomplishments and beliefs. He wrote the Declaration of Independence to advocate for the people's freedom and rights. As president, Jefferson established the Democratic-Republican form of government and wanted America to have liberty for all citizens regardless of who they are. While Jefferson owned slaves, he later came to understand their perspective and allowed for change on the issue of slavery. Overall, Jefferson was proud to have helped America but did not declare himself as a "great change" and remained modest in his assessment of the country's outcome.

1. Why did you write the Declaration of Independence?
I did it for the people 2. What are your best accomplishments? I would say being president. 3. Why did you write “All men” instead of “All people”? The only way for the people to like the Declaration is to make it seem as if it is for them. 4. What kind of government did you want for America? A Democratic-Republican 5. If you could go back in time and change anything, would you? I would not ever want to change anything about the past. 6. What makes you want America to be free? The way people in America can do what they love no matter who they are. 7. Why did you run for president? I was already loved by some so why would I not run for president. 8. How come you owned slaves and yet you wanted slaves to be free? People back then were different, and everyone can change, so I decided to allow myself to sit in their shoes. 9. Would you call yourself a “great change in America”? I would call myself a change but not a great change. 10. Are you happy with how America turned out? I feel as if I have done something for America, but I will not share that opinion.
