The Emergency Imperial Council

Individual Directive
COVERT
Authored by – Commander of Task Force 317
Aim: To take back control of the South Georgia Islands with a final
assault on Grytviken
(NOTE: THIS IS THE CONTINUATION OF THE PREVIOUS DIRECTIVE, ALBEIT WITH DIFFERENT
OBJECTIVES)

Resources required: WASP Helicopters

Plan of Action –
 With positions in the west and the east of the Cumberland West
Bay and Cumberland East Bay fairly secure, focus now turns
towards capturing the town of Grytviken;
 The commandos had spent the last two days collecting
intelligence and tracking enemy movements using satellite
imagery and sophisticated binoculars;
 Intelligence suggests that there are around a hundred and twenty
Argentinian soldier amassed in Grytviken;
 There also do not seem to be any sign of reinforcements in the
town;
 With that, the 132 commandos get ready for the final assault
against the Argentinians;
 Brigadier Julian Thompson coordinates with the two ships HMS
Plymouth and HMS Antrim and start planning a mock naval
bombardment of the areas near Grytviken as a show of strength
to the Argentinians, which would be a show of British Naval
strength;
 At the same time, the two WASP helicopters aboard the Antrim
will fly towards the Mountain Troop of D company stationed west
of the Cumberland West Bay and load them up to carry them
across the fjord and over to the other side where the Argentinians
are holed up in the lowlands;
 At seven in the morning, these commandos will then trek towards
the Argentinian position, but will not confront them;
 Instead, the Commados would take up the high positions
surrounding Grytviken;
 At the same time, the Mobility and Boat Troops stationed on the
east side of the Cumberland East Bay start making their way
towards the southern side of the Argentinians;
 The distance between where they had been stationed and the
position of Argentinians is just seven kilometres and so the
Commandos complete the trek in five hours;
 The ships HMS Plymouth and HMS Antrim are then called in to the
Cumberland East Bay as a show of force;
 The HMS Plymouth, using its highly advanced twin 4.5in Mark 6,
40mm Bofors Mark 7, 12*21 –inA/S torpedos and Sea Cat GWS-20
SAM missiles among other things will start bombarding the coast
using 20mm Gun Batteries a little north of Grytviken as a show of
force;
 The bombardment would have instantly demolished a part of the
mountain face, sending a hail of boulders crashing into the sea;
 Right after the bombardment is over, Captain David Pentreath
would announce over the microphone – ‘You have been
surrounded on all sided. To your west, Commandos have control
of the high ground and right now have their guns pointed at your
positions. To the south the Boat and Mobility Troops are primed
and ready to attack your position. To your north lies the broken
hilltop and to the east is us. Surrender now. We will accept it. Else,
you would be blasted into smithereens by a single missile from
our 7.5 caliber guns.’
 It is expected that Lieutenant Commander Alfredo Astiz would
surrender seeing that he and his men were surrounded on all
sides with troops carrying superior firepower.
Expected Outcome: Retaking of the South Georgia Islands through a tactful
combination of superior weaponry and intimidation

Signed-

Commander of Task Force 317
