The Emergency Imperial Council

Individual Directive
OVERT
Authored by – Commander of Task Force 317
Aim: To make St Helena operable for launching ships and aircraft for
the Falkland war

Resources required: 200 construction workers, RMAS Typhoon

(A95), HMS Cardiff and SS Uganda

Plan of Action –
 The main purpose of this directive is to set St. Helena up so that it can
act as a launching pad for ships, especially after the accident in the
Ascension Islands rendered the ports and the airways inoperable;
 The HMS Cardiff, RMAS Typhoon and the SS Uganda should set sail from
the port of Plymouth, England carrying road and airway building
equipment;
 SS Uganda which is a medical ship will carry the two hundred workers to
the St. Helena for the construction;
 The HMS Cardiff will be carrying three road rollers and a two tonne
container containing molten tar;
 The lowland area lying to the south of the hills will be cleared of all
civilian settlements and they will relocated to the northern part of the
island;
 Shortly after the three ships reach the island, the container ship SS
Atlantic Conveyer will carry the rest of necessary equipment needed to
make St. Helena a launching pad.

Expected Outcome:
 Constructing two airfields, a wartime emergency port (WEP) and a lone
jetty (for docking smaller ships and trawlers).
