Do you believe that locomotor movement is very beneficial in the development of

your health condition? Why?

Yes, I do believe that the locomotor movement has a significant benefit to my


health condition. Locomotor skills such as walking, running, hopping, and
climbing, can be considered as an exercise that helps the body in increasing
stability, building strong muscles, heart, and bones. The benefit of Locomotor
movement activities is not limited to the strengthening of the body but also helps
to increase body functionality since it aids the body to develops cardiovascular
fitness, coordination of the larger limbs, balance, spatial awareness, visual-spatial
awareness, and the further they are executed the more routes the brain will
create to adapt new muscle memory learning. Furthermore, Locomotor skills also
have a benefit to a human emotional and mental health because movement also
activates the endorphins and neurotransmitters serotonin, together with a
particular protein named BDNF (brain-derived neurotrophic factor) that,
additionally to defending the prevailing brain cells, also supports new, healthier
brain cells, preceding to better brain function. Therefore, activities like walking,
running, and climbing can lessen depressive symptoms and can be as effective as
medication and psychotherapies.
