1. Differentiate Physical Development to Mental Development.

We all know that physical refers to our body while mental refers to our mind. So physical
development and mental development differs in so many aspects. Physical development refers
to the development and improvement of physical skills such as strength, speed, endurance,
coordination, flexibility, agility, and balance, as these are essential for success in various activities
or to make it short it is the ability of an individual to utilize and control their own bodies. While
mental development refers to thinking, problem-solving skills, and their ability to analyze body
movements, skills and game situations using their minds. It is the gradual changes in mental
processes that occur as a result of growth, learnings, and past experiences and individual gain
knowledge and awareness of the strategies and guidelines.

2. Cite one purpose of Physical Education and explain it briefly.

Physical education aims to improve individuals’ physical competence, understanding of


movement, and ability to apply these to a variety of activities connected with the development
of a healthy and active lifestyle. There are a lot of purpose and benefits of physical education to
us human especially to the younger generations some of this are to develop our physical, mental,
social, and emotional well-being. Physical education not just gives us knowledge but also provide
us awareness and tips on how we can avoid many diseases. Nowadays the rates of diseases like
anemia, obesity, stress, diabetes, and heart diseases are increasing rapidly among younger
generations. So, the purpose of physical education is to decrease the rates of the diseases that
was caused by lack of knowledge and usage of physical education. Physical education helps us to
stay fit, healthy, and flexible. PE also increases our bone density, muscle strength and motor skills.
With proper exercise and healthy diet that is part of physical education, makes our immune
system stronger, body healthier and mentally stable. Furthermore, physical education teaches us
and shows us how good it can make us feel mentally, emotionally, and physically. To sum it up
the purpose of physical education is to helps us avoid diseases by means of making our body
healthy through regular physical activity and proper diet, it also improves our mental health and
improve our quality of life and well-being.
