Function of Physical Education Through :


Biological
It is the first kind of education that exerts its influence on the body. Physical education aims the
biological side of human beings. It has the responsibility to provide the necessary conditions to
allow timely maturation and development of the natural functions of the human
personality in optimal conditions.
Integrative
incorporates a variety of strength and conditioning exercises into a well-designed lesson
that enhances the health- and skill-related components of physical fitness.
Social
Physical fitness and exercise help youth develop important skills such as conflict resolution,
cooperation with peers and social skills such as leadership and fine tuning motor skills.
Healthy behaviors are a positive side effect of exercise while also increasing social skills
necessary for development

Objectives Of Physical Education


aim of physical education is not only physical development but also to equip learners with
knowledge, skills, capacities, values, and the enthusiasm to maintain and carry on a healthy
lifestyle. It promotes physical fitness, develops motor skills and the understanding of rules,
concepts and strategies of playing games and sports. Students learn to either work as part of a
team, or as individuals in a wide variety of competitive activities. The main objectives of
physical education are to:
• develop motor abilities like strength, speed, endurance, coordination, flexibility, agility and
balance, as they are important aspects for good performance in different games and sports.
• develop techniques and tactics involved in organized physical activities, games and sports.
• acquire knowledge about human body as its functioning is influenced by physical activities.
• understand the process of growth and development as participation in physical activities has
positive relationship with it.
• develop socio-psychological aspects like control of emotions, balanced behavior development
of leadership and followership qualities and team spirit through
participation in games and sports.
Physical Fitness

Physical fitness is to the human body what fine tuning is to an engine. It enables us to perform up
to our potential. Fitness can be described as a condition that helps us look, feel and do our best.
Physical fitness involves the performance of the heart and lungs, and the muscles of the body.
And, since what we do with our bodies also affects what we can do with our minds, fitness
influences to some degree qualities such as mental alertness and motional stability.

Importance of Physical Fitness

physically fit is important for all the age groups. To live better life to the fullest and enjoy all the
opportunities, one try to be physically fit. Physical fitness is essential for each and every
individual at all stages of life. To achieve fitness, various modes and methods are available.
Before adopting such methods, warming up before activities and cooling down after activities are
essential to minimize any risk of injuries of an every individual.

Components of Physical Fitness

Health-related components
There are five components of physical fitness: (1) body composition, (2) flexibility, (3) muscular
strength, (4) muscular endurance, and (5) cardiorespiratory endurance. A well-balanced exercise
Program should include activities that address all of the health-related components of fitness.
Aerobic activities develop cardiorespiratory endurance and burn calories to aid in achieving a
healthy body composition. Muscle-strengthening activities develop muscular strength and
endurance and assist with the development of a healthy body composition. Activities such as
stretching and yoga help improve flexibility.

Performance-Related Component
an individual's physical fitness includes performance-related components. These six components
measure specific skill-sets, and include: (1) agility, (2) coordination, (3) balance, (4) power,
(5) reaction time, and (6) speed
