Update your LinkedIn introduction to
succinctly say: who you are, what you’ve done and what
you want to do
Change your LinkedIn profile to ‘Open for Work’
Add a post on LinkedIn to say you are looking for a new
opportunity replete with your USPs. Contact your
favourite recruitment agencies – Propel – to share it on
their Linked In thread
Collate a list of 100 potentially useful connections
Identify sectors of interest you might want to move into
PUT THESE IN PLACE:
Set up a specific job search email address
Create a professional email signature replete with up-to-
date contact information
Ensure your phone voicemail is clear, upbeat and
professional
Create a Zoom account profile for video interviews.
Compile a wish list of job titles
Script and rehearse two or three tailored elevator
pitches (30-60-90 seconds)
ACTION THESE:
Go through your LinkedIn connections and reignite
useful ones with a friendly voice note (you must
download the LinkedIn App on mobile to send these)
Conduct outreach to connections within wish list
companies. Create them if none exist
Research and sign up to relevant recruitment agencies
within your space
Research and sign up for relevant industry, company and
networking events and webinars (if there aren't any
networking events - create your own)
SELF CARE:
Allocate time for yourself each day
Research inspirational podcasts and books.
Invest in a new hobby and learning new skills

Compile a wish list of 50 companies
Dig out and dust off your CV – read it aloud
Record a detailed voice mail to yourself talking through
what you have done and compare this with your
existing CV (ideally get someone else to interview you
about your career so far and record what you say)
Familiarise yourself with the tangible and measurable
impact you have made in your previous roles – 3 for
each - and substantiate with numbers and statistics
Ensure the above achievements along with their
accompanying figures are highlighted within your CV
Research interview questions and compile
personalised answers - research the STAR technique
(Situation, Task, Action, Result) to enable succinct,
punchy answers
Bring your LinkedIn profile up-to-date and make sure
it’s a more succinct version of your CV
Compose a cover/ networking / enquiry email
templates
Produce a generic CV and two others tailored to top
job titles you have identified
Create a list of top interview questions you should ask
interviewers
Sign up to Vidyard to create a short digital
introduction which can be used instead of cover
letters.
Sign up to all relevant sector, company, recruitment
newsletters
Have your finished generic CV to take along to all
events you attend in person and upload the digital
version during virtual events
Create compelling LinkedIn content and post regularly
Create a spread sheet for tracking networking efforts
and dated follow-ups
Devise a system to track job applications
Carve out a daily time dedicated to job searching
Follow all wish list companies on LinkedIn and set
alerts for their latest jobs and news
Exercise - physically and mentally
Envision positive outcomes and visually realise
who and where you want to be
