Thank you toastmaster … for the opportunity that was given to me to deliver my speech this

morning. So we’ve been living in the world of society in our company, where we’ve been asked to do
some task from the simplest task to the most complex tasks. And each of those task must be
completed during the exact amount of time that was given by our boss. And in order to tackle those
tasks, we need to more strategic to manage all of the resources such as materials, and manpower in
order to complete our task in an effective way.

From that reason, we need to establish our leadership and management skills to encounter those
problems. But in order to lead some team, we need to adapt to the people and adjust our leadership
style to suited to the team we’re going to lead.

For example, if the organization is dynamic and forward thinking, but our leadership style is laser
fair, which is laid back, it won’t success. So let me tell you that there are 7 types of leadership styles
that we can decide which one is most suited to us and to our team.

Leadership style number 1 is Autocratic, the autocratic style of leadership is one where the leader
controls all of the decisions and takes little or no input from their team members. This style of
leadership in a military and the emergency services such as fire service and the police, and sometime
this style of leadership is referred to as authoritian.

Leadership style number 2 is Affiliative. The affiliative style of leadership encourage their team to
work in harmony, they seek to quickly solve conflict, and they will promote a happy and positive
working environment. Affiliative leadership is great in organization where team members have to
work very closely together and support each other to complete tasks.

Leadership style number 3 is coaching. This type of leadership is encouraging people to continually
improve and ultimately reach peak performance. Well this is often will work on mindset and team
behaviors and they are well suited to organization where the culture are the priority.

Leadership style number 4 is democratic. The democratic leadership style is one of the leadership
style that encourage team member to be actively involved in the decision making process, so they
will often ask their team member for their opinion before making a decision

Leadership style number 5 is lace affair. Now this is when we are allowing our team member to get
on the tasks with little supervision or monitoring, we place a full trust in our team members and we
only get involved when absolutely necessary.

Leadership style number 6 is pacesetting. The pacesetting leader value results more than anything
else. They set the pace and they expect people to follow. This leadership style are often found in a
high pressure work environment where managers and leaders are expected to achieve difficult
targets.

Leadership style number 7 is transformational. Transformational leaders inspire people and they
encourage their team to embrace changes that often allow the organization to maintain their
position as a market leader. This usually an energetic people who are driven to succeed.

So, from all the 7 types of leadership above, my leadership styles is a combination of autocratic,
coaching, and transformational. I use these three different styles based on the needs of the
organization I am working for.

For example, when we are under pressure and working towards very tight deadlines, I will be
autocratic.
When I am undertaking performance reviews with my team, I will utilize a coaching style of
leadership because I want my team to grow, develop and be the best version of themselves.

Finally whenever the organization is going through a period of change, I will use a transformational
style of leadership to inspire and motivate my team towards implementing the changes needed to
help the company.

So that’s all from my speech about leadership styles, so from now on we could understand that in
order to achieve the common target, we need to adjust our leadership styles to our current
situation. I hope that this could actually useful for all of us.
