Task 1 – Evidence Document

• Open the file P2evidence.rtf

• Make sure your name, Centre number and Class & Roll No will appear on every page of your
Evidence Document by placing these details in the header.

• Save this Evidence Document, as a word processed document, in your work area as
P2evidence followed by your Class & Roll No. For example,P2evidence9A01

You will need your Evidence Document during the examination to enter answers to questions
and to place your screenshots in when required.

Task 2 – Spreadsheet

Your manager has asked you to manipulate a spreadsheet about some properties for sale in
Hong Kong.

1. Using a suitable software package, load the file P2PROPERTY.csv


Save this file as a spreadsheet with the file name P2PROPERTY_ and your Class, Div & Roll
No. For example, P2PROPERTY_9A01

2. Insert header & footer

On the left in the header add your Full Name

On the centre in the header, add your Class & Div and Roll No

On the right in the footer, add Page: followed by an automated page number.

On the left in the footer, add the automated file name and path. [2]

3. In cell D2 use a function to lookup the name of the area in which the property is located using
the file P2LOCATION.csv
This function must include both absolute and relative referencing and must not use a named
range. [5]

4. In cell I2 use a formula to calculate the price per square foot (sq ft) of the property. [2]

5. In cell J2 use a formula to calculate the sales commission on this property. The sales
commission is $10,000 plus:

• If the property has an Area (sq ft) of less than or equal to 500 square feet (sq ft), 5% of the
Price

• If the property has an Area (sq ft) greater than 500 square feet (sq ft) and less than 4000 square
feet (sq ft), 7.5% of the Price
• If the property has an Area (sq ft) greater than or equal to 4000 square feet (sq ft), 10% of the
Price [9]
6. In cell K2 use a formula for this property to add the Sales commission to the Price to give the
Cost to customer. [1]
7. Replicate these 4 formulae for each of the properties. [1]
8. In cell K75 use a function to calculate the total cost of all properties for sale. Round this value to
the nearest 1000 dollars. [3]
9. • The manager has made an error while entering number of rooms for Happy Valley location.

• The maximum number of rooms available are 5.

• Create data validation rules to ensure that the manager is given an error message if he/she
tries to enter number of rooms more than 5 and less than 0.

• Paste screenshot evidences of how you created these rules. [3]

10. • Complete the Test Plan in the table given in the Evidence document. Provide proof of Actual
Outcome. [3]
11. Format all numeric values in columns I, J and K into dollars with no decimal places. [1]
12. Format all the cells in the top row so that the text is centre aligned, bold and italic and in 12 point
serif font. [2]
13. Hide columns A-C and E-H. [1]

14. Print the spreadsheet showing the formulae used. Make sure:
° it is in landscape orientation
° row and column headings are displayed
° the contents of these cells and formulas are fully visible.
° the printout fits on single page wide. [2]
15. Unhide all columns.

16. Print the spreadsheet showing the values. Make sure:

° it is in portrait orientation

° row and column headings are displayed


° printout fits on a single page height

° contents of all cells are fully visible. [1]


17. Interrogate the data to find all the properties in any part of Kowloon.
Paste screenshot evidence of how you achieved this. [1]

18. Sort the above data in ascending order of Location and then by descending order of Cost to
customer.

19. Print the data sorted in step 18. Make sure:

21. Save & Print the evidence document.
