ARTICLE DEVELOPMENT AND TECHNOLOGICAL ADVANCEMENT

The development of this technology now has many remarkable progress shows. Many things of
the life sector who have used the existence of the technology itself. Its presence has provided a
considerable impact on the lives of human beings in various aspects and dimensions. Such is
the case with communications technology that is the hardware equipment in the organizational
structure that contains the value of the social that allow individuals to collect, process and
exchange information (according to the Rogers,1986). Circumstances, where a technology
capable to change something that is not necessarily can be made into a reality. For example, if
the first person cannot speak with others who are in a place that is far away, then after the
phone people can talk without limits of time and distance.
From this, again with the discovery of various simple devices, ranging from analog-based
phones, developed and developing, continue to appear a variety of other electronic devices.
Until these technologies integrate with each other. Existing communication technology is an
answer of the times. This happens because of growing forward a human civilization then
technology will continue to undergo development to align patterns developing era of mankind
itself.

The notion of communication technology and information technology:

According to Rogers, 1986 technology is hardware equipment in the organizational structure

that contains the value of the social that allow individuals to collect, process and exchange

Development of communication technology:

At this time the need for technology, information and telecommunications technology was very
high from the start to the middle to the bottom and the middle to the top. All individuals
desperately need technology to accelerate development or improving the construction of both
individual and group development. The development of technology which is currently very
quickly is the communications technology, which presents a selection of forms technology and
sophistication.
Development of the communication itself is actually in line with the life and existence of
mankind itself. There are four main determinant point in the history of human communication.
According to Nordenstreng and Varis (1973) are:

Engineering has the potential to accelerate the development of low-income communities by

integrating insights from the social sciences along the entire arc of technological innovation,
from idea to manufacture at scale. Here the case is made for a new field, Development
Engineering, that will formalize this process by building on techniques from engineering,
development economics, behavioral science, and sociology. Launching this discipline will
require academic support infrastructures and sustained partnerships between academia,
government, industry and the social sector.

Technological Change:
Engineering is a profoundly creative process. A most elegant description is that engineering is
about design under constraint. The engineer designs devices, components, subsystems, and
systems and, to create a successful design, in the sense that it leads directly or indirectly to an
improvement in our quality of life, must work within the constraints provided by technical,
economic, business, political, social, and ethical issues. Technology is the outcome of
engineering; it is rare that science translates directly to technology, just as it is not true that
engineering is just applied science. Historically, technological advances, such as the airplane,
steam engine, and internal combustion engine, have occurred before the underlying science
was developed to explain how they work. Yet, of course, when such explanations were
forthcoming, they helped drive refinements that made the technology more valuable still.
Technological innovations occur when a need arises or an opportunity presents itself. They
occur as a result of private initiative or government intervention. Most important for this study
is that they are occurring at an astonishing pace, especially those in information and
communications technology, which are most apparent to the public, and this has important
implications for engineering practice and engineering education in the future. Totally
unexpected scientific findings can suggest new technologies as well, and hence any discussion
of the future of engineering must ponder scientific breakthroughs that might occur along the
way.
