COMMUNICATION MODEL
L
A. Aristotle's communication model.

Speaker — Speech — Occasion — Audience — Effect

The speaker, is the person who starts the communication and encodes the speech or messages
into words, gestures, or symbols. The audience, or the receiver, is the person who receives the
message and decodes it into meaning. The speech or message is the idea that the speaker
intends to give to the audience.

B. Laswell's communication model.

Communicator — Message — Medium — Receiver — Effect

The "who" in the communication is the one who gives the message. The "say what" is the
message that you want to give to the receiver, the message could be verbal or non verbal. The
"in which channel" here refers to how the message to be transfer to the receiver. The channel
could be newspaper, radio, tv or social media. The "to whom" here is the one who receive the
messages. And the last one is the "with what effect" refers the outcome of the message.

C. Shannon - Weaver communication model.

Sender — Encoder — Channel — Decoder — Receiver

The sender is the person who creates the message. As you can see in the diagram there's
encoder and a decoder which means translating and giving the messages in one another is
involved. For example the message may be encoded as written text and decoded as spoken
word. The channel is how the message be transfer like telephone radio or television. There's
also noise it is the barrier of the communication, it will destroy the transmission of the message.
The last one is feedback, which is the response or reaction of the receiver to the message.
D. Berlo’s S-M-C-R communication model.

Sender ( S ) — Message ( M ) — Channel ( C ) — Receiver ( R )

The sender is the source of the messages. Message is the information that the sender is trying
to give to the receiver. The channel is how the message is being transfer to the receiver like
face - to - face communication, telephone social media and television. The receiver is the
person who will gets and understand the message.

E. Osgood-Schramm communication model.

Encoder — Message — Decoder — Interpret — Encoder — Message — Decoder — Interpreter

Same process at the other model but this model is continuous, it's like a give and take. For
example in the classroom were the teacher gives a information about some topics. The students
will listen then understand what the teacher were saying. Then the students will ask more about
the topic then the teacher will explain more about the topic.
