Introduction

The purpose of OJT is to give instruction and practice opportunities so that a

learner with little or no prior experience can acquire the information, skills, and

competences necessary to carry out the task related to his or her work. OJT offer

specialized guidance and mentorship. The level of supervision decreases as

competency increases since the trainee has mastered the work and can complete it with

little with no monitoring. Alternative training approaches lack the contextual and time

flexibility required for thorough skill development. OJT can also be used to evaluate

individuals ‘suitability for particular positions inside the firm. Employees can better

understand a person’s strengths and limitations and if they would be a suitable match

for a given role studying employees throughout the training.

I anticipate getting a lot out of this internship, including useful job experience, a

path to a future profession, new knowledge and contacts, as well as confidence and

experience in the field. A career can be tested out during an internship without any long-

term commitments. The following are the three primary goals of training from the

perspective of the individual employee: Increase individual awareness. Boost a person’s

proficiency in one or more of their areas of specialization. Boost a person’s drive to do a

good job at their work.
