Grade 8 – Enthusiasm

Assignment (1st Composition)

Explain: Anger is an acid that does more harm to the vessel in which it is contained than
to anything on which it is poured.

Anger is a harsh, raw feeling. In some places, it’s a positive and proper emotional response. The
emotion of anger is a response to actual or perceived "evil" or injustice, but people can become angry
simply because things don't turn out according to their plan. In the present, time isn’t moving the way
we believe it should. In this way, rage has a destructive effect on the “battle” against the present moment
world, the refusal to accept what is.

Furthermore, if we feel empty and powerless, we are vulnerable to self-abuse or manipulation by others.
Our lives will be meaningless, filled with numbness, resentment, and anger; we will become depressed
or rebels without a cause. People with big cups have a lot to give, so they look for other people with big
cups who can reciprocate in the same way. A lover with a small cup searches for another with a large
hole who will appreciate whatever they can offer.

But there is another kind of outrage: moral rage. The passion for what is good and only fuels the outrage
against sin and immorality. Since all anger is rooted in wickedness, we care when we fail to accept
Christian morality. A moral God's anger has been distorted by sin, but really it comes from our vision of
him.

For anger to be transformed, kindness is the paradigm-shifting method. Through it, you are liberated
from the endless return loop so that you are able to connect with more emotion and connection. Because
kindness liberates you from the tendency, it allows you to move forward. You might not be able to
completely dissolve anger by forgiving, but you'll know you exist a lot more when you do.
