Case study analysis tutorial

The design and construction of The Palm Jumeirah project was first proposed in the 1990’s as
a luxury residential and commercial area, a tourist destination, and a means of providing
Dubai with more development space. The idea of the palm shape design is is culturally
relevant and symbolic to the region. One of the main aims of the project is to provide a
significant amount of beach front property for both national and international investment by
adding 78.6 km to the city’s current 72 km.
Watch the video and think of the process in general. Has BIM and digital construction been
implemented to some extents of the project? If yes, what are the main benefits and what the
use of technology is even wider?
