AGDAO MULTI-PURPOSE COOPERATIVES HISTORY
Agdao multi-purpose cooperatives is a certified FOCCUS cooperative. It sustains the
growing number of more than 65,000 members from 19 strategic locations in Mindanao and
Visayas. With roots dating back June 19,1991, it has strongly set foot in Davao city where its
Head Office was based. AMPC strategic locations are situated in Davao Region, SOCKARGEN
and CARAGA Region. AMPC provides a complete line of financial products and services such
as loans, Savings Deposit/ Investment, share deposit, 24/7 ATM services, Life and Non-Life
Insurance, Bills Payment and E-loading, Damayan Aid and Healthcare & Wellness. It also
provides Financial Education and Financial literacy to members in different branches.
The cooperatives visualizes of a “world class” institution by building a better world, by
providing competitive products and services to members that promote equitable growth, people
empowerment, gender equity as well as environmental stewardship. It intends to address two
things. The first is sustaining the progress of economic lives of members and second, as an
institution that consumers really trust, thus gaining brand loyalty which significantly increased
member’s patronage. Agdao Multi- purpose cooperatives has clearly demonstrated strategy,
capability and commitment and become a model of success. Consequently, recognized as one of
the recipients of different awards from known organizations in the Philippines.
Today Agdao Multi-purpose Cooperative, with its reputed dedication and sincere service
to the members, stands to its promise of continuing commitment to support the Filipino people
by providing competitive products and services and protection, as a partner of life.
People are at the heart of our cooperative. Our strength lies in the members, Officers and
employees who believe that financial services are not all about money. Our security lies in the
cooperative principles that guide our decisions, putting people first.

E. MEMBERSHIP REQUIREMENTS
The membership of this Cooperative is open to all natural persons, Filipino citizen, of
legal age, with capacity to contract and, within the common bond and field of membership as
described in R.A. 9520.
Regular Member
1. Attend Pre- Membership Education Seminar (PMES) on-site or on-line and pay the
prescribed seminar fee accordingly.
2. Submit duly accomplished application form and and pay the membership fee on-site or
on-line.
3. Have been recommended by the Branch Manager and approved by the Board of
Directors.
4. Subscribed to the minimum number of shares as prescribed and indicated in the
application form.
5. Committed to contribute regularly towards capital build-up, regular savings and other
mandatory dues prescribed and approved by the annual General Assembly.
Associate Member
1. Student/ Youth. A student/youth to become an associate member must have.
a. Officially enrolled in a school within the area of operation;
b. Been certified as a dependent or beneficiary of a regular co-op member;

2. Juridical Person. An Application to qualify for associate membership to the MSU-IIT
NMPC must have te following:
a. Approved legal documents such as SEC/CDA Certificate of Registration, and
other government regulating bodies;
b. Maintained savings deposit with average daily balance as prescribed by the Board
of Directors;
c. A submitted resolution specifying MSU-IIT NMPC as depository with authorized
official signatories;
d. A Savings Depositor who must have opened a savings deposit with average daily
balance as prescribed by the Board of Directors.
F. NATURE COOPERATIVES (OPEN OR EXCLUSIVE
MEMBERSHIPS)

1. Open and Voluntary Membership


Membership in a cooperative is open to all people who can reasonably use its services and stand
willing to accept the responsibilities of membership, regardless of race, religion, gender, or
economic circumstances.
2. Democratic Member Control
Cooperatives are democratic organizations controlled by their members, who actively participate
in setting policies and making decisions.
3. Members’ Economic Participation
Members contribute equitably to, and democratically control, the capital of their cooperative. At
least part of that capital remains the common property of the cooperative. Members allocate
surpluses for any or all of the following purposes: developing the cooperative: setting up
reserves; benefiting members in proportion to their transactions with the cooperative; and
supporting other activities approved by the membership.
4. Autonomy and Independence
Cooperatives are autonomous, self-help organizations controlled by their members. If they enter
into agreements with other organizations, including governments, or raise capital from external
sources, they do so on terms that ensure democratic control as well as their unique identity.
5. Education, Training, and Information
Education and Training for members, elected representatives (directors/trustees), CEOs, and
employees help them effectively contribute to the development of their cooperatives.
Communications about the nature and benefits of cooperatives, particularly with the general
public and opinion leaders, help boost cooperative understanding.
6. Cooperation Among Cooperatives
By working together through local, national, regional and international structures, cooperatives
improve services, bolster local economies, and deal more effectively with social and community
needs.
7. Concern for Community
Cooperatives work for the sustainable development of their communities through policies
supported by the membership.

H. REQUAREMENTS TO AVAIL SERVICES OR PRODUCTS

 Must be a registered member of AMPC


 Must have a minimum Share capital of P1,000.00 or more at the time of the loan
application.
 Has one qualified member Co-Maker willing and capable of assuming the payment of the
borrower’s debt in case of default of the latter.
 A member can avail of Loan with a maximum of not more than 10% of the cooperative
net worth which will be determined prior to the approval of the loan.

 New members can file a loan after membership is approved.
 Loan is approve by the approving authority depending on the amount.
 A borrower can apply for re-loan if 50% of the outstanding balance is paid.
 If the member desires to avail other loan product, existing loan should be updated.
Borrower’s capacity are also considered in this case.
 Acceptable collaterals are coop savings (passbook/ certificate), home appliance ( in good
condition) OR/CR of vehicle, TCT in the name of borrower) and certificate of ownership
for machineries/ equipment.

FUNCTION HALL/ SPACE RENTAL


 Function hall rental- At a very affordable rate, our function halls are available for person/
business events such as meetings and conferences, seminars, birthdays, baptismal or
wedding. It is strategically located at Agdao Coop Green Building in N. Torres St.,
Obrero and in Lao St., Toril respectively.
 Office space rental- The office space are strategically located at AMPC Building in Bo.
Obrero and in Toril, davao City.
