1) Do you have to raise NTC in the event of any engine oil top up?

- As per stay over check sheet item 2 (a), if engine oil if uplifted, you have to calculate the engine oil
consumption rate (calculation method is stated therein) and record it in the MR1 .There is no entry
needed in the NTC.

2) How do you check APU operating hours?

- The step is as follow:

a) Get access to the CDU.

b) Go to the MAINT BITE INDEX page.

c) Select APU.

d) Select IDENT/CONFIG.

e) APU operating hours since installation will be displayed.

3) Why do we need life raft on this fleet in terms of regulation requirement?

- Since MAS B737-800 is ETOPS rated, as per ICAO Annexes, MCAR Schedule 5, and AN 75 requirement
stated that flight conducted over water more than 50 NM from suitable landing airfield required that
the aircraft must be equipped with individual life vest and sufficient flotation devices such as life raft.

5) What is the layout/menu interaction of the PSEU and how much flight leg history does it store?

- Basically PSEU menu is self explanatory, when you press ON/OFF button the following menu will
appear in order:

- EXISTING FAULT
- FAULT HISTORY

- GROUND TEST

- AIR/GND OVRD

- OTHER FUNCTION

You can get back to the top of the menu list by pressing the arrow button.

Any fault history will be stored in the NVM in the PSEU.A total of 64 flight leg / maximum of 256 faults is
stored in the PSEU.

6) Why does the APU drain for the SFP differ from the normal configuration aircraft?

-On the SFP aircraft, the tailskid system is retractable(2 position tail skid).In order to accommodate for
the retractable tail skid system, the APU drain is designed to differs slightly.*On our fleet, only 9M-MLC
is a SFP aircraft.

7) How do you carry out operational test on the 2 position tail skid system?

- The details of the test are as per AMM task 32-71-00-710-801, the overview of the task are as per
below.

a) As safety precaution, install all the LG lock pin and lock pin at the tail skid.

b) Power up the airplane and check that the applicable CB (SPSEU PWR 1 and TAILSKID) are pushed in.

c) Pressurize hydraulic A and B.

d) Remove the lock pin at the tailskid.

e) Get access to the J23 junction box at the E & E bay. Set the switch at the J23 to EXTEND. Ensure that
the tailskid extends within 30 sec.

f) Set the switch at J23 to RETRACT, and ensure that the tailskid retract within 30 sec.

g) Reset the SPSEU by doing the SPSEU round test.


h) Depressurize all hydraulics and put the airplane to its normal configuration.
