COMMON LABORATORY APPARATUS

1. Objective/s:
1.1. To the familiarize with the different laboratory apparatuses and equipment.
1.2. To identify the names and functions of the different laboratory apparatuses
and equipment.
2. Intended Learning Outcomes (ILOs):
The students shall be able to:
2.1 Learn the different laboratory apparatuses and equipment, as well as its
functions.
3. Discussion:
Apparatuses and equipment are often encountered in laboratory works. It is
important to know their names and functions in order to be familiarized with them.
Acquiring knowledge on the proper use of each apparatus makes a young
scientist become more efficient in his job. It makes work easier, faster and
systematic, thus, increasing his daily productivity.
4. Materials:
Test Tube Graduated Cylinder
Stirring Rod 125 ml Erlenmeyer Flask
Wire Gauze Triagular File
Pipette Crucible Tong
Watch Glass Thermometer
Beam Balance Florence Flask
Burette Separatory Funnel
Evaporating Dish Burette Clamp
Iron Clamp Funnel
Volumetric Flask Test Tube Holder
Mortar and Pestle 150 ml Beaker
Wing Top Test Tube Brush

5. Procedure:
5.1. Request for the above apparatuses from the laboratory technician.
5.2. Study each apparatus, draw and label if necessary.
5.3. Describe the function of each apparatus and its parts.
