ACTIVITY DESIGN

Activity Name: PROFILING OF MAG-ASO FALLS

Venue : Barangay Matobato, Bindoy, Negros Oriental

Date : July 28-29, 2022

I. RATIONALE:

The Ramsar Convention on Wetlands of International Importance especially as


Waterfowl Habitat otherwise known as Convention on Wetlands, is an international
treaty for the conservation and sustainable use of wetlands. This also to provides
framework for national action and international cooperation for the conservation and
wise use of wetlands with resources.

In pursuit of DENR Memorandum Circular 1997-17 (Criteria for the


Identification of Wetlands Critical to Biodiversity Conservation) as part of our
commitments under Ramsar Convention on Wetlands. The Mag-aso Falls which
located in Barangay Matobato, Bindoy, Negros Oriental was identified to be
conducted for the assessment and profiling for Inventory of Inland/Wetlands.

Thus, the DENR-CENRO Ayungon with the collaboration of LGU Bindoy,


BLGU of Matobato and People’s Organization of Matobato Small Farmers
Association (MASFA) will conduct a Two-day Profiling and Assessment in Mag-Aso
Falls pursuant to FMB Technical Bulletin No. 2018-06 “Prescribing the Forms for
Inland Wetland and Profiling”.

II. OBJECTIVES:

To gather relevant information and data with the following to wit:

a. Geographic Information;
b. Bio-Chemico-Physical Information;
c. Wetland Benefits;
d. Management Information; and
e. Assessment and Recommendations.

III. PARTICIPANTS:
