Too much attention is given to headline-grabbing disasters like earthquakes and floods.
Governments should concentrate their resources on educating people about the risks they
face near their homes, which can cost far more lives. To what extent do you agree or
disagree?

News on natural calamities is omnipresent nowadays. It seems that mass media is emphasizing
on alarming people about these disasters. However, some individuals propose that potential
hazards in daily life are more concerning, which necessitates the help of the governments. From
my standpoint, I believe that each country should invest in informing residents about big
catastrophes and acknowledging them on everyday accidents as well.

Firstly, headline-grabbing disasters have exerted both positive and negative consequences to the
society. On the one hand, they have raised people’s awareness about natural calamities
happening worldwide therefore have bolstered their acknowledgement about essential
precautions. Moreover, it tremendously provokes people’s compassion towards the victims and
arouses their consciousness of the desire to live a more meaningful life as they are aware that
catastrophes can occur and destroy them at any time. Nonetheless, an abundant quantity of
alarms can drown communities in unnecessary nervousness, deteriorating their health, both
mental and physical. Also, on overexposing to news on disasters around the world, audience can
be oblivious of their nearby risks, which can cost as many lives as global scourges. Therefore, I
think these headlines should be moderately promoted for the sake of citizens.

Secondly, in the hope of a more secure world for humanity, governments should utilize parts of
the national budgets to develop people’s knowledge about the dangers in the daily life, ranging
from road accidents to on-the-street crimes, which raises death tolls as much as natural disasters.
Some people deem those incidents irrelevant and even implausible in their life; however, in fact,
accidents like fire house have caused deaths to thousands of humanities worldwide. Therefore, it
is emergent authorities have suitable movements to raise residents’ awareness about the hazards
around their homes. Once they are equipped with knowledge on daily possible dangers as well as
the self-protection knowhow, the security of their life will consequently be ameliorated.

Conclusively, news on natural scourges should be spread rationally as their ubiquity of it can
affect both beneficially and negatively on the society. Additionally, it is advisable that
governments have certain strategies to educate their citizens about these daily potential dangers
they may encounter.
