ABSTRACT

This study looked at the factors that may influence Vietnamese students while recycling. This
study's premise was tested through a digital survey, in which 70 Vietnamese college students
from various Vietnamese universities took part. They were asked how much time they spent
recycling and how it affected them, how their friends influenced their choice of recycling
activities based on the amount of time they had, and how and why their habits had evolved
over time. Overall, the data demonstrated that the majority of respondents choose recycling
activities that help them protect the environment. The study's findings might be applied to
recyclable materials. The feasibility of organizing a recycling event based on the outcomes of
this study to raise student awareness about recycling.

INTRODUCTION

Most people spend their spare time performing their preferred leisure activities, and their
choices can be impacted consciously or unconsciously by other variables such as friends, the
number of schools they attend, and their workload, in addition to their own. This is the factor
that's had an impact on recycling.
In today's climate, it's more crucial than ever to grasp the value of recycling and waste
prevention in order to lessen your environmental imprint. There is now a drive to decrease
garbage and recycle, but the impact might be great with the cooperation of the education
sector. Every year, 200 billion aluminum cans for beer and soda are manufactured, which
equates to approximately 6,700 cans each second. However, only around half of aluminum
cans are recycled. Aluminum cans that are not recycled are simply discarded. Pollutants are
already polluting the oceans, and landfills are swiftly filling up. Aluminum is an excellent
choice for beverage packAging. B. In fact, aluminum is often regarded as the most effective
shipping packing material. Furthermore, aluminum recycling saves 95 percent of the energy
required to manufacture new cans! Aluminum cans are also completely recyclable and can be
returned to the store after only 60 days.
The recycling activities of ISB students would be figured out in this study. This survey was
completed with the sources of online information. In this cross-examination, we will find out
the consequences and the exploration of the attitudes and behaviours of the students of ISB.
The purpose of this study was to assess the attitudes and behaviors regarding recycling of
South Vietnam college students. This study was completed with the use of an online survey
delivered to ISB students .According to the research, ISB students recycle very well so far.
METHODOLOGY
The participants comprised 70 Vietnamese college students, 44 of whom were female.
21 of whom were male, and 5 who wanted not to disclose their gender. The students were all
Vietnamese, and they were separated into four groups based on their college year: freshman,
sophomore. junior, and senior. The subjects were chosen from a separate institution, which
means they are all over the age of 18 and have previously completed high school.
The test instrument used in this study was Google Form, which allows us to create an
electronic questionnaire and allow participants to select their answers from a list of
possibilities. This survey comprises 11 questions, including 2 survey questionnaires and 9
questions designed to assist in determining the elements that impact students' recycling
activities these days. The response rate was 100%. Students were asked a series of questions
on how much time they spent recycling and how it affected them (questions 3-5), the impact of
peers and their surroundings on their consciousness (questions 6-8), and their habits. From
questions 9 to 11, describe how it has changed through time and offer reasons and solutions to
the problem.
Though no time limit was mentioned, the average time required to finish this exam is between
5 and 10 minutes. After the respondent has finished answering the questions, the researchers
will collect the data and draw conclusions based on the graphs and diagrams generated by
Google Form for both general and detailed conclusions of all replies.
RESULT
FIGURE 1

The platform notices about recycling.

The pie chart deals with where to find out about recycling. As can be seen, the percentage of
individuals who are aware of recycling through social media accounts for more than half and
is the highest (62.996).. Social networks are becoming increasingly crucial in each of our
lives. As a result, we know how to recycle more and contribute to a cleaner environment. On
the other hand, TV ads (15.7%), School (20%) and magazines are not as widely used as social
media, indicating that they are out of date and do not reach everyone. This demonstrates that
we should concentrate on a platform where social networks will be of more assistance.
FIGURE 2

The best reflects your recycling practices

The pie chart displays pool statistics on recycling habits observed by pupils. At first glance, the figure shows that
from all five categories. The most important reason is that environmentalists make up more than half of the
population (54,3%). Meanwhile, 18.6% of individuals had never thought about it. Furthermore. 17.1% of
respondents feel recycling might help them generate money. Some houses (8.6%) do not have enough space in
their garbage cans. Finally, persons who reuse material items have the lowest percentages. As a result, people's
conduct is particularly concerned with the environment.
FIGURE 3

The best way to recycle aluminum products

The pie graph demonstrates the most effective approach to recycle aluminum goods. The most important
technique (37.1%) is to reuse aluminum bottles and cans on a regular basis. Furthermore, employing fundraisers
that promote recycling, such as the use of personalized reusable aluminum (28.6%). Furthermore, acquiring more
recyclable aluminum-based goods (24.3%). Last but not least, encouraging people to recycle has the lowest
proportion (10%). All of these indications that people prefer to reuse aluminum bottles and cans imply that this is
the most convenient option for everyone to recycle.
FIGURE 4

The most difficulties in recycling bottles and cans

The pie chart emphasizes the challenges connected with recycling. The biggest concerning
reason is that aluminum recycling is not commonly implemented in the region (40%).
Furthermore, 28.6% of people may not have enough time to recycle. Aside from that, 20% of
the total is due to the lack of a facility to accept aluminum items. Furthermore, individuals in
the surrounding area do not recycle, therefore they are badly impacted (10%). Finally, an
unpopular obstacle is a lack of convenient access. In general, people changed their habits to
recycling aluminium
DISCUSSION
The statistical significance shows that young people can learn about recycling and that
sustainable education may provide essential information for social transformation and
behavior modification.
According to the first crucial conclusion, friends had a significant impact on students'
recycling practices. The more the merrier is usually assumed. Most individuals prefer to work
in groups rather than alone, and our habits are more easily affected by those around us. This
might explain why friends have such a strong effect on pupils' behavior.
The second key finding was that scrolling phones are an excellent tool for increasing recycling
awareness. The rise of technological devices and social media helps to explain these
behaviors. Persons may easily connect to the world through their devices, and they can find
and witness many ways to recycle. These discoveries benefit the environment.
The third effect is that the environment has altered since before. The environment is becoming
polluted, and everyone should spread the message to one another about how they can assist. It
may easily spread through cell phones, which were not as prevalent 10 years ago as they are
now; nonetheless, as the world prospers and evolves, so does everyone's life. We now have
access to Internet media and websites that may help us learn more, and we can easily share our
recycling experiences with others.
The final conclusion is that the environment has an impact on recycling. As seen in Figure 4,
aluminum recycling is not common in everyday life, hence there is no promotion, resulting in
fewer people recycling.
In other words, this study reveals that as children's awareness, importance, and
conscientiousness about recycling grows, so does their intention to recycle in the
future. However, because of practical limits, this article is unable to offer an exhaustive
evaluation of the final recycling activity.
In conclusion, this study found that workshops are an effective method for teaching
environmental awareness and altering attitudes in favor of recycling. Furthermore, it would be
interesting to investigate the relevance of the environment for workshops that promote
environmentally friendly actions and determine whether they are more effective in a familiar
environment, such as a school with participants' classmates, but also in an unfamiliar
environment.
