PROCESS USED IN INDUSTRY
 Good Laboratory Practice (SOP)
 Objective
To lay down the procedure for Good Laboratory
Practices.
 SCOPE
This SOP is applicable to all the staff of quality
department at SWISS Pharma Pvt. Ltd.
 Responsibility
It is the responsibility of QC officer to follow the SOP
properly. It is the responsibility of QC manager and QA
manager to ensure that the SOP is followed properly and
related documents are maintained
Guideline & Procedure for GLP are as follows
❖ Laboratory Area
The handling and disposal of waste and effluents should be
carried out in a manner as per regulatory requirements. There
shall be provision for safety measures, as per respective SOP.
Lightning, temperature, humidity and ventiliation should be
appropriate and such that they do not adversely affect the
products being tested or the accurate functioning of equipment.
Sufficient space should be available to avoid mix-ups and cross-
contamination. There should be adequate storage space for
samples and records.
•Generals Safety Measures
•Eye protection and other personal protection
equipment’s must be worn wherever required. Especially
working with acids, alkalis and solvents.
•Eye washer shall be in good condition and operational.
•Flammable chemicals are kept as per the specified
conditions.
Sampling & Analysis of Finished products.

•Responsibility
Q.A. chemist is responsible for sampling of finished products.
Q.C. chemist is responsible for analysis of finished products.
Q.A./Q.C. Head is responsible for ensuring that the SOP is
followed properly and related documents are maintained.
• Materials & Equipments
Sampling Bag, Glows, Mask
• Procedure
•After receiving test request slip from Production Department,
Q.A. chemist do sampling and send it to Q.C. Dept. for testing.
•Check the batch details on the label and compare it with slip.
•QC person shall analyze the finished product as per the
Specification.

◦ WEIGHING BALANCE: -
 A weighing scale is a device for measuring weight
Balances measure the mass of an object and are used in
science.
 scales and balances to determine the weight and/or
mass of things ranging from feathers to loaded Tractor-
trailers.

 DIFFERENT TYPES OF BALANCE:

 Analyticalbalances:-Very accurate balancesan analytical
balance is a class of balance designed measure small mass in
the sub-milligram range. They are mostly used to weigh
substances and samples between 0.01 to 500 milligrams an
analytical balance measures masses to within 0.0001gm.
 Micro balance:- To measure, weigh data on the tiniest of
samples. samples weighing between 6 and 0.0001 milligrams.
UV-Visible spectrophotometer

• Ultraviolet-visible spectroscopy or ultraviolet-visible

spectrophotometry refers to absorption spectroscopy or
reflectance spectroscopy in the ultraviolet-visible spectralregion.
This means it uses light in the visible and adjacent ranges.
• The absorption or reflectance in the visible range directly
affects the perceived colour of the chemicals involved. In the
region of the electromagnetic spectrum, atoms and molecules
undergo electronic transitions.
GAS CHROMATOGRAPHY

•GC is used for high performance for better separation of volatile

and thermelly stable compound headspace is used for seprating
organic volatile impurity and auto liquid sampler is used for
determining purity of the sample. Mostly used carrier gases are
nitrogen , helium , hydrogen etc.
•WCOT capillary column is prepared by a special coating of
dimethyal polysiloxane inside the colum and outer surface of
pure silica .the calibration of machine is done wuthin 3 months
•COMPANY NAME : Agilent 7890B Gas chromatograph
•DETECTOR : Flame ionisation detector ( FID )
HPLC : HIGH PERFORMANCE LIQUID CHROMATOGRAPHY

•HPLC is a poweful tool in analysis , it yields high performance

and high speed compared to tradiitional columns
chromatography because of the forcibly pumped mobile phase
•HPLC is a chromatographic technique that can separate a
mixture of a compound
•It is used in bio chemistry and analytical chemistry to identify ,
quantify , purify the individual components of a mixture.

CONCLUSION
 Industrial training is very much essential for chemistry
Students. It is also a great opportunity to acquire
practical knowledge. During my training period, in the
industry acquired lots of experiences in QA & QC
department. This will help me to clarify my theory
knowledge. I hope that it will help me much in my
future profession.
 During my training period, I had seen the various
instruments and apparatus in the Industry. The Highly
sophisticated instruments that work precisely must be
operated with intense care for optimum use. I could
acquire a lot of information regarding the latest
instruments and their working procedures.
