Basic Training Course for Kawan Leaders Session No.

Aim: To ensure the achievement of the BSP vision statement by providing new and
prospective Kawan Leaders with a three (3) day Basic Training Course
whereby they will be able to develop in themselves the will to actively involve in
Scouting and thus ensuring the effective delivery of the KAB Scouting Program
and the achievement of the BSP mission.

Objectives of the Course

At the end of the training course, the participants should be able to:

1. Explain why Scouting is a very effective contributor to the solution of the problems
of Philippine Society;

2. Make plans for self-development in order to strengthen their capability in

performing their responsibilities as Kawan Leaders;

3. Plan the activities necessary for the effective development of the character of their
KAB Scouts thereby enabling them to be responsible, disciplined, concerned, and
self-reliant citizens in their home and their institution;

4. Participate in a Commitment Ceremony as an outward sign of your decision to

accept fully and wholeheartedly Scouting, its vision statement, its principles, the
Scout Method, and the policies of the Boy Scouts of the Philippines.
