CHAPTER IV

PRESENTATION, ANALYSIS AND INTERPRETATION OF DATA

This chapter presents the results of the experiment made on the fermented banana fruit juice
as organic fertilizer for tomato plant. This chapter also included an analysis and
interpretation of the data gathered from the experiment.

Table I
LITERS OF FERMENTED BANANA FRUIT JUICE TO BE USED FOR ONE TOMATO
PLANT

Amount of liters Results

4 liters every 1-2 weeks The tomato plant that used the organic
fertilizer grew faster and taller than the
normal grown tomato plant.

In addition, certain aspects may have helped the tomato plant that used the organic fertilizer
to grow taller and faster than the normal-grown tomato plant, such as temperature, light, and
nutrients.

Growth Comparison of Both Tomato Plants

In approximately 2 months, both plants grew differently. While they were both planted at the
same time, both plants still showed a noticeable gap in height. This leads us to table II.

Table II
THE DIFFERENCE IN SPEED OF GROWTH BETWEEN A NORMAL GROWN TOMATO
PLANT AND A TOMATO PLANT THAT USED FERMENTED BANANA FRUIT JUICE AS
FERTILIZER

Height (60 days)

Normal grown tomato plant 45.72cm

Tomato plant that used fermented banana 60.96cm

fruit juice as it’s fertilizer
As shown in table II, both plants are shown to have a distinct gap in height. It can be seen
that within 60 days, the normal grown tomato plant reached the height of 45.72cm.
It is also shown that the tomato plant that used fermented banana fruit juice (FBFJ) as an
organic fertilizer reached the height of 60.96cm making it taller than the normal grown
tomato plant.
Although both plants were grown in similar conditions; the tomato plant that used FBFJ as
an organic fertilizer still dominated in height. While the tomato plant that used the fermented
banana fruit juice as its organic fertilizer grew faster and taller. The first plant to bear fruit
was the normal-grown tomato plant. Which is shown in the next table.

Table III
NUMBER OF DAYS IT TAKES FOR THE TOMATO PLANT THAT USED “FBFJ” AS ITS
FERTILIZER TO BEAR A FRUIT (WITH NORMAL GROWN TOMATO PLANT)

No. of days until the first produce

Normal grown tomato plant 57 days

Tomato plant that used fermented banana 0 days (did not bear a fruit)
fruit juice (FBFJ) as its fertilizer

Based on the experiment, despite its height in growth, the tomato plant that used fermented
banana fruit juice as its fertilizer was late to bear fruit compared to the normal-grown tomato
plant.
